Been camping nearby this pub so have called in twice, just for refreshments and once, for an evening meal. Food excellent although us NE folks didn't know that London Particular was pea and ham soup! Such a big bowl full, we actually shared it. Ambience is lovely, as is the riverside setting

We stop at the Kings head on advice from the camping site lady and the food was really good and the waitress was lovely but I can’t say I would ever go back. The owner/ manager I dunno was rude and not a welcoming person at all. When he gave us the bill he keep saying 77£, said it 3 times and I was like , that’s impossible and he keep saying it. He should know we couldn’t have 77£ bill less keep saying it making me feel bad. I would never come back because the manager make us feel really unwelcome but food was lovely and the rest of the staff too.

I take 2 90 year olds a couple of Sundays a month and the experience has always been brilliant. All the staff are friendly and go the extra mile to cater to every request with professionalism, elan and always with a smile.

Food is a bit fussy these days. Used to have homely pub food, now too pricey and frilly. Beers good.

Great kerbside appeal and just stunning once inside. Done up really nice, decor is perfect. Very warm and cosy with all the candles lit and original low exposed beam ceiling. Staff very very attentive and welcoming. Enjoyed a superb meal, Seared Duck. Cooked to perfection. Lovely room, very clean and tidy. Everything in it you require.
