I stayed while doing the C2C, great stay. Denise was so helpful when I wanted to have a room of my own. Breakfast was perfect and she couldn’t have been more helpful. Room and bathroom was clean, tidy and bed was v comfortable. Drying room was a benefit- perfect location for hiking or cycling. I booked last minute and communication was also brilliant. The location is lovely and Kirby has everything you’d need. Would make a great base as well as a stop over.
Great stopover at Kirby Stephen. Edge of the Lakes. Motorbike was safe and those that know, know. Recommended for lads and lassies. Lots of room to linger, cook and eat. 7-11 Across the road. Chippy Indian, Italian and pubs, a very short walk.
A clean tidy private stay over at this hostel. I was s solo traveller on a motorcycle and Denise was friendly and accommodating. A good price and excellent location of course for shops...cafes and pubs. Would recommend.
I really love this hostel. I've stayed here twice. It's a good rest stop for the coast to coast if you are camping and want to have a shower and recharge your electrics and sort your feet out and sleep in a real bed. It's unmanned and self service but it's in an awesome historic building and is down the road from takeaways and shops and pharmacy. Large communal area, drying room you have to turn it on, there are instructions on the wall, a well equipped kitchen, dorms OR private rooms if you like. Lots of cycling people there too so I'm assuming you can put bicycles round the back somewhere safely. I don't know why it's only two stars tbh. You can contact the manager by mobile phone so I don't know why someone gave it a bad review because of that, there are instructions on how to use everything all around the place and I spoke to her a few times and she's really nice.
Needed a room at late notice and the hostel was very accommodating and helped me with a room for the night. Amazing price and perfect location for the venue I was attending. Would stay there again and recommend it for others.nnClean and perfect for what I needed at the time
