Food good, although main menu a little limited. Very carb heavy. Atmosphere reflects a homely Italian bistro. A lot of the starters come served on a small wood board which sometimes makes the food hard to eat. House red wine a definite winner. The new lunch time special menu is value for money and yummy. Staff friendly and knowledgeable. Returned again service very very slow and birthday treat forgotten. Not impressed
Had a fab experience in this restaurant. A relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff, and great and speedy service. The food was delicious - despite only having the super lunch menu to choose from, there was definitely still a sufficient range of meals to choose from. I shall definitely be attending again when I find myself in Leeds.
Tastes very average for me. Flavours aren't quite there. Food presentation is rather appalling especially the pasta. Dining here can be very expensive. Fluffy potatoes are brilliant though.
Booked a table to celebrate a birthday. We ended up having 3 courses each. The service was excellent throughout and the building and facilities were very well styled. The food was of great quality and the portion sizes were appropriate. The price did match this. Although it wasn't too busy I would recommend booking before visiting.
If you are in search for an Italian experience and really feel like having some good pasta you are looking at the pinacle of fresh pasta. They deliver on the name of the chef and its products. THE ICECREAM is a MUST HAVE heaven sent especially that you build your own with 2 extra topping with no extra cost
Had never been to any of the Jamie’s before, so decided to try one as I saw it on my way to the Leeds Arts Museum which was surprisingly nice, btw. First, I want to thank Alex for fast, friendly and adept service! I decided to try as the appetiser risotto balls with mushrooms although I knew that risotto is definitely not one of my favourites - I am always on the lookout for the first time I would actually really like it. Unfortunately this was not that time either. On the other hand, the mushrooms and the mushroom sauce were quite nice, and the Pinot Noir Alex suggested although I typically prefer heavier reds I take went really well with it; smooth and stayed long after a sip in my mouth, long enough to still be there for my next mouthful of the food too. The chicken on the other hand was excellent. The spices worked well with a little squirt from the lemon, the meat was tender and cooked to right where I prefer. The broccoli, however was not quite as crispy as it could have been. Having eaten too many sweet things already today, I did not try the deserts, so can’t comment on that. Fast, efficient, good - will go again next time I am in Leeds, and will ask for Alex’s table if possible. :
Visited for a birthday meal and won't be returning. The staff and setting were perfectly fine, though on reflection we weren't asked if our meals were ok. However the food was a real disappointment. Starting with pork cracklings, which were bland and wanting for seasoning, and a bread basket which had just tree chunks of two types of bread and not a basket in sight, it was something of a shaky start. The mains were dismal. My dish was ok - spicy penne - sauce was a bit wishy washy, but my young son's mini burger was just a joke - half a bread bun cut into two, with the most pathetic morsels of meat being passed off as a "burger" inside. The baked hedgehog potatoes accompanying them were in fact just two boiled new potatoes that had been shown a grill. My daughter's spaghetti was awash with lemon, not just topped with zest. The crispy polenta chips were neither chips not particularly crispy - they were intact two-finger-thick slabs of unseasoned polenta. God only knows where they put the rosemary it was advertised as containing.
Warm welcoming, delicious food and cocktails, and at great, affordable prices - in particular the super lunch menu. Will definitely be back!
Had to wait to be seated, place was not even half full. Staff friendly, but had to wait for the food and the check ridiculously long time. Food was really nice though. Pizza was delicious! Dessert also nice, good coffee. Although, I think a food is a bit overpriced.
We were eating out at Jamie's Italian using a gift voucher given for our Golden Wedding last year. When we told the waitress this is what she produced, what a lovely gesture and it made the event even more special. See photo.
