Fantastic place! Great food excellent cocktails and absolutely amazing staff. Me and my boyfriend went to celebrate our anniversary and valentine's all in one, the place was packed and every server apologised for the waiting between drinks and courses. They even gave us our desserts for free due to the long waits super polite and kind. The food was so good we would definitely come again. The only fault is that we were situated right by the doors so every time it opened we got the full brunt of the cold But all in all a brilliant place Thank you for your excellent service
The steaks were cooked nicely. Decent char and juicy inside. The menu was limited for selection and not a great amount of sides to chose from. Service was slow, took a while to get our drinks but the servers were nice.Food: 5/5
Had lunch in here today and I must say the steak was outstanding, the chips even tasted a bit unique and loved those too. Was a flying visit to Leeds so never been before but I'd definitely recommend this place for anyone reading my review. Thanks to all the staff
I really wanted to like it here, and I really wanted it to be a cut above the Miller and Carter we went to a few days before. Even more so because we took relatives who were visiting from abroad. Unfortunately however, once we got past the lovely ladies on the door, everything took a bit of a nose dive. The atmosphere was a little subdued, but then it was a Wednesday evening so we'll let that slide. The waiting staff, though they were going the motions, didn't really appear to want to be there. I don't know if they had just had a dressing down or a bad meeting but something was clearly off. The food came out in a timely manner, but other than the nice pork, was very average. The steaks were gristly and a bit tough, also all three steaks were under done and lacking a little in flavour. Sad looking food pictured To add insult to the average food and the sullen staff, was the above average price followed by an even further above average undeserved service charge. Overall, if you want better steak, more attentive staff with probably over 20% off and, in some cases parking... Go to a Miller and Carter. Would have been 3 stars if the service charge wasn't rather rudely put on the bill automatically.
Bit torn on this as originally we wanted the Ox cheek but were told it was sold out it probably is as good as it sounds then. The dishes we then went for lacked alot of flavour and it would be hard to see this just being a one off. Also seems like they tried to put too many tables into the space they have, so it also felt quite cramped. Below par for what I originally expected.
My first impressions of Blackhouse were beautiful exteriors and interiors. Comfy seats and nice atmosphere. Staff were attentive but beware the 12% service charge, which in all fairness was pointed out to me before I paid. Menu was good. I had an oak smoked and pear salad which was delicious and priced at £12.50. We shared a lively houmous dip to start and my daughter had rump steak which although a little chewy was very tasty, £27. The steak didn’t come with anything though which I found surprising at that price. All in all very nice but pricey.
Absolutely love this place. Went with friends as a party of 6. Our waitress Kitty was so lovely, enthusiastic and attentive. She was also knowledgeable about the menu when I asked about the different steak cuts. Food came quick and to a high standard. Will definitely be back soon!Food: 5/5
Fantastic restaurant 3rd time coming to this place and my steak is always cooked to perfection and service is wonderful. Believe we had Tom in the last lunch trip, lovely guy, and very attentive. Just one bit of feedback is to get more varied on the side dishes as they can be quite plainFood: 5/5
Not my first visit. Nice atmosphere, but average presentation. The night we went they we’re out of oysters, lobsters, and most of premium steak… And the peppercorn sauce is charged extra. The stars are mainly given to the atmosphere, the food cannot be more generic. Though it does bring people back once in a while, such as myself ‍
Fantastic. Fast service, really good pricing for really good quality. A decent size portion and good waitron staff. Round about £50 for two people mains and drinks. I will happily return and bring other people here!Recommended dishesFish and Chips
