My niece supervised a school trip to Windsor- they stayed one night at this Holiday Inn Express. I was impressed with the friendly staff and the excellent location. Nice view of the Detroit River and skyline. The restaurants and downtown college and university buildings are within a few minutes walking distance
Recently stayed for a hockey tournament and was very impressed with the hotel. The staff is so friendly and helpful. The place is so clean. They are constantly cleaning! The breakfast was a great hot meal with lots of options and always replenished and again wiped clean constantly. The staff is very prompt with anything you need. I would definitely stay there again. Our experience was easily a 10/10. Thank you!
Stayed in March, 2024. Second time staying here first was about 5 or 6 years prior. Very clean & comfortable hotel, well updated since my prior visit. Great location, about a 500m walk from the Casino; right next to the Loose Goose RestoPub & Lounge great pub food, especially the wings! and walking distance to a few other bars & restaurants. Didn't affect our stay, but I would say that I noticed parking can be an issue at times limited capacity and I see that has been mentioned by other posters as well, who note that they have to park at a garage a couple blocks over. Didn't seem to be an issue close to check-in time, but certainly filled up by dinner time. Free breakfast was nice -- typical fare and some hot items sausage, eggs, pancakes, cinnamon buns. Can get a bit busy during peak hours and on weekends. Overall, would certainly stay here again.
I was on a short trip. Hotel is right next to riverfront. I had booked a riverfront view river in advance. When I got the room initially the room had partial view blocked by a wall. I requested the hotel desk for changing my room. Initially they told me they were fully booked but OLA front desk guy followed up and ensured we get a room with a better view. Hotel was clean and breakfast was great. They start winding up the breakfast at 9 so it’s better to go early. Overall nice place, would recommend to stay there.
The rooms and hotel itself were very clean. The breakfast was delicious and had many options. The staff were always friendly and had great customer service. The Riverview rooms had a great view. The hotel itself isn't in the greatest area but we didn't have any issues. It had some great restaurants near it.Rooms: 5/5
Room: overall clean and quiet. However if you get a room facing the water some drivers last at night think that the road is a race track. Breakfast: not bad. I recommend the pancakes from the pancake cooker. My husband loved the cinnamon buns. The coffee isnt great. But if you make a coffee in your room and bring it down it is good. Pool: small Parking: the parking lot is limited so when it is full you have to park two streets over in a public parking garage.
Holiday Inn express Windsor is one of the best Holiday Inns I’ve ever been too. From a variety of breakfast food to splendid room service guest will have a great time staying there. One key feature is its great location. Water front views of the GM towers I Detroit and a great access to the waterfront walk, Holiday Inn Windsor Waterfront is a great place to enjoy your vacation! Walkability: Best spot of Windsor downtown as you can walk 10 min to all ends. As well as the water front path.
Nice location, super polite front desk staff, but I had several issues. They give you a number to text if you have issues, but nobody responded. The Tv didn't work. Dirty wash cloths hanging on the shower bar from previous guests. Dirty paper cups left by coffee maker. USB plug on the table didn't work. I was not going to make a big deal of that, but the "used condom" under the vanity did it for me. Can't say I'll ever use holiday inn again.
I got a room for the night and got a riverside view that included the roof vents and heating/cooling units. After I checked in I had to drive a block away from the hotel to park my car in a parking garage because the hotel doesn’t have enough parking for the guests. This all wouldn’t be a big problem except that they charged way too much for what I got and added a $15 fee to park at the garage because they don’t have enough parking.
Small and simple rooms. Fine if your not planning on being in yhe toom for ling periods if time. Rooms are not sound proof at all. You can hear road traffic and people in the hallways clearly. Great service at the front desk.Rooms: 3/5
