Meals are good but breakfast can be a bit hit or miss....last week the night manager cooking the food was a real moan... obviously Nightshift isn't his favourite shift but least he could do was crack a smile through gritted teeth and at least try to welcome you. This morning I'm back up here again...and it's a new Nightshift guy on and he's chirpy and cheery and welcoming...maybe last weeks guy could do with a few lessons of him?

Went to see Paloma faith. She was fantastic and the venue did the trick. Maybe a little more spensive for what you get but hey ho.

This hotel has gone into administration and has become neglected as the refurbishment has halted.The main restaurant is closed off and breakfast is served in the foyer. The Quality of breakfast food was good but at no point were all choices available at the same time and the staff member questioned said there was nothing she could do about it. The bed was extremely uncomfortable and needed replacing. The staff member upon checkout was excellent and dealt with our complaints very professionally. Note to self next time book the Holiday Inn Express. Spire Elite Members.

Handy place to stay if going to AECC room's abit in need of refurbished but clean enough for short stay breakfast 6/10 staff great and helpful
