Excellent pub/hotel. Nice location and attractive thatched building. Staff are very friendly and helpful. This is a proper country pub, serving good food with a nice variety. Selection of local real ales, guest beers and a wide variety of drinks. The rooms are well maintained in annexes from the main pub. Nice atmosphere in the pub and friendly locals. If you crave a proper old school pub then this is the one for you.
Outside of the pub is delightful and very well kept. Food is first class and definitely not yo be missed. We sat on a table in the shade as it was a particularly hot day. However will rethink seating area next time as halfway through our meal a family arrived and they spent some considerable time asking their grandchildren if they needed a wee!! And they weren't quiet either! Not the thing to hear when you're eating. Nevertheless we will definitely be back there again. I would suggest that this pub is one not to miss out. The staff are very friendly and helpful.
Lovely, charming, idyllic, friendly Pub and Inn in Lower Chute outside of Andover. Convenient place to stay if you're driving on to Salisbury or Stonehenge. Beautiful thatched roof, wood-beamed interior, and a classic beer garden that was perfect for the summer evening I spent there. Spoke to the proprietor who was very friendly and helpful with advice on local places to go. Great selection of beers on tap and my steak and ale pie dinner was delicious. Breakfast could have been a bit better but it was wholesome and filling. Rooms are a bit dated but you're in a countryside inn and it works with the charm. The real star of the place however is one of the pub dogs, Sparkle, who will absolutely steal your heart! Very happy to recommend and looking forward to visiting again one day!
I loved the place, a true British pub, with restaurant and accommodation. Food was amazing with a good selection of craft ales. The room was spacious and very clean, and the towels were soft. A great place all round. Staff helpful and friendly, great asset.
Food tasted great, bit too much, so couldn't have dessert. One member of staff was very good and came to serve us, the other member the manager? seemed a bit dismissive and bored, preferred to chill out at the bar. Would go back though.
Lovely pub, open fire and amazing food. Good portions too! Couldn’t ask for more. Unfortunately didn’t take and photos.
Very welcoming pub/hotel with very comfortable rooms beautifully arranged and very friendly staff food was A1 and 10/10 for the big open fire we sat next to while we had tea will definitely be back thank you!
Lovely venue, brilliant selection of food which was outstanding, Helpful staff. Not only that but we didn't want to leave the cozy log fire!
A classic English countryside pub! A lovely country retreat where you can enjoy beautifully home cooked meals and in the winter, sit by a lovely open fire. Would highly recommend to visit!
