We stayed for my 40th birthday weekend and were pleasantly surprised! Beautiful building with quirky steps! Staff were so warm and welcoming, nothing was too much trouble. Special thanks to Laura and Jade - both so friendly and kind. An absolute credit to the team. Food was delicious too!Rooms: 5/5
Did us perfectly for what we required. Really old Inn dates back to 17th century, corridors quirky and old beams add to the character. Staff were friendly and efficient. We also got 20% off our food bill dining in last night. Lovely cooked breakfast in the morning to set us up for travelling on. Great value hotel and exceeded our expectations for the price. Thank you
We stayed in the hotel, which was excellent value and staff were great. Simply raising this point as I just don't understand how you would let yourselves down with something that costs nothing. There was mould in the bathroom, I would've cleaned it myself but had no products. Its not a major amount, I have a photo, just totally unnecessary I feel. Overall though a great stay.
Currently staying here for a few days to visit family have stayed before. We are a family of 4 with 2 adults a 3 year old and a 8 month old. The rooms are ok in need of some work but are clean and family friendly. One of the reasons we come back is the staff, extremely helpful and friendly which is good for my anxiety. The breakfast is great and our server is friendly and helped with our questions. Good price especially being close to Christmas. We will definitely be coming again.
Popped in for a quick drink but ended up having a meal, I was greeted and served by Laura. She was personable, welcoming and very attentive. Laura made sure our glasses were always full and that we were satisfied with our dinner. Food was yummy and very reasonably priced, will definitely come here again :Service: 5/5
Although It’s been a while since I stayed I have often visited and now it seems after a management change it is now a great place to stay. Comfortable room , good food and a.good atmosphere Jade was particularly helpful and a wonderful asset in this type of business which needs a boost in these times. She made our stay all the more better. Thoroughly recommend here and will definitely be returning
Booked for 2 nights while visiting family in the area, the staff were all polite, but I wish that I had been informed that there was going to be a DJ directly below our room tonight. There was no way in which we could relax so decided to cut our trip short. Although functional the room we were in is massively overdue a refurb and I would imagine that the rest of the rooms are the same. The floorboards were uneven in the room which did not help my disabled wife's getting around. On a positive as previously mentioned the staff were all very polite.
Stayed for one night whilst visiting family in Andover. Overall experience was positive. Staff were very helpful on checking in and the bar/restaurant area was pleasant. Our room was clean and tidy, although it felt like the place was getting a little tired and in need of a revamp soon. Breakfast the next morning was an "interesting" experience. The lady who was taking orders obviously missed the staff training about customer experience that was going on when I checked in the previous day, and was rather curt and rude with lots of huffing and puffing. We were seated next to an open door out to the smoking area which seemed to be rather busy with staff members, and the wind was blowing cold air in, forcing us to sit on the other side of the table. Value for money was good at £45 inc breakfast for 2 people, and I'd probably stay again as I wasn't looking for a top class hotel, just somewhere to sleep.
The staff were very nice and friendly but the room was grubby and needs a make over. The window frames were black with mould. The whole place needs a good clean. I’m very sorry to leave this review as it’s not something I would normally do, but the place does need a good clean and a repaint and better, cleaner furnishings. The toilet seat was also loose and needs refitting before someone has an accident.
Stopped in as a last minute decision for food on a Sunday afternoon. Realised the carvery was being cleared away so asked the chef Luke I think? If he was still serving. Not only did he sort us out when he could of turned us away, it was one of the best carvery meals I've had! Highly recommend, we'll definitely be going again!Service: 5/5
