"The Angel In is Andover's oldest and most historic Inn and is almost as old as Andover itself.Situated at the top of the High Street in Andover it is said to be the seventh oldest public house in England. A stretch of wall in the back corridor dates back to the year 1174 when Henry II was King of England.Throughout its long existence The Angel has hosted many Royal visitors. King John who gave Andover its Royal charter in 1201 is thought to have stayed at the Inn. Later both Edward I and Edward II visited the Inn. Another notable visitor was Catherine of Aragon, Henry VIIs first wife, who stayed in 1501.It is said that the Angel is not haunted by royalty or noble guests but by two elderly farmers."

Good pub with an old-world charm and very friendly staff and locals. Visited for first time one Friday afternoon last month to find a fairly busy pub with a good range of ales and lagers. Has pool table and jukebox. Jukebox was playing very loud and would have given 4 stars as a consequence if not for the bar staff being very welcoming and efficient and the many friendly regulars who were quick with welcoming smiles and nods even though they didn't know me from Adam.
Absolutely fabulous pub steeped in history, Yvonne the landlady is brilliant very welcoming literally can’t do enough for u! Courtyard is a proper sun trap the perfect place to sit out & chill for the day. Will be back definitely
The pub is lovely an old coaching in at the end of the high street. Personally not eaten there but friends tell me the food is good but I have drunk there and the bar and beer are excellently kept. Inside is spacious with plenty more space outside and the landlady alway gives a warm and friendly welcome. Always a mixed crowd plenty of regulars and dogs are welcome. Would I recommend, absolutely
Fantastic atmosphere and great except for the little boy in the white Fred Perry polo shirt...well what can I say! You need to choose your friends or tour business.. bless you!!!
Lovely historic inn, lots of character, welcoming staff and a great pint. Look forward to returning and would defo recommend popping in if you are in the area.
Nice little pub. Recommended by my Niece.
Friendly staff and customers, nice vibe, went before and was a live band, no complaints
Great pub, lovely friendly atmosphere, very little trouble if ever, steeped in history, well worth the night out
Great pub, full of history. Took a few of my American friends there and they lived it. The girl behind the bar was exceptionally friendly.
New owners are amazing, you couldn't ask for more from a pub. Welcoming, newly furbished, clean and friendly. Great atmosphere and music. You're missing out if this isn't your local.
