Lovely country pub with atmosphere and pleasant garden to sit in the sun. Good beer selection and the food has been great the two times we have been, with an interestingly constructed menu catering for all tastes. Loved the deviled kidneys -not often seen in menus and not allowed at home -so great to have.
All the good reviews are recent, there's a reason for that. The Cricketers is something of a hidden gem. The menu is interestingly different, with some items you see practically nowhere else. It's worth a visit just for the razor clams starter, they're almost impossible to find in the UK. Good choice of beers, nice to see a couple at sensible strengths for drivers, not all at 4.5% and above. All in all a lovely pub, nice big garden too but a bit chilly on our visit last weekend.
It is a great half way meeting place between London and the west country. Beautiful pub Garden and typical country pub inside. Staff we very pleasant and went the extra mile to accommodate us. The food was outstanding quality and lovely flavours. Will be back soon.
We were given a warm welcome and quickly seated in a very pleasant environment amongst a lovely group of people all enjoying a leisurely lunch. The meals took awhile to arrive but the interesting selection of ales made the waiting pleasant. Lots of venison dishes on the menu and the vension burger was excellent as were the fish and chips. The berry cheese cake with New Forest ice cream was sublime! On our list for a return visit!
I came here with 5 others, an impromptu visit, we usually book ahead as it is often very busy. The staff were very busy but accommodated us no problem, the menu is fantastic, regularly changing and never disappoints. Three of us opted for a baguette, and three of us the whole baked fish - all were super tasty and served with a smile. Highly recommend.
I cannot fault The Cricketers Inn . We eat here regularly and the staff are great - friendly ,helpful , nothing is too much trouble. The food is always freshly cooked to perfection and the new Cajun Chicken Burger is Fantastic .see you all again next week !Service: 5/5
