Went at 16:15 and the pie mash and eels were still smashing. I thought the bottom of the pie could do with a touch more colour. Chili vinegar gave a nice kick and the vibes were just classic.
Harringtons Pie & Mash restaurant is located in Tooting on Selkirk Road and has been operating there since 1908. The restaurant was nearly full with a broad range of customers from families with children to senior citizens and everyone in between. To avoid disappointment arrive before 13:30 I arrived late afternoon for a Double/Double and after that customers were being turned away. This is testament to show that this establishment is one of the originals and has a strong customer base of locals. The P&M was really good, piping hot and good consistency on both the liquor and mash. My only complaint would be that for a double portion of mash I would have expected more. Parking is off street and there is a pay at machine terminal further down the street. The area is a hot spot for enforcement officers so Pay & Display is strongly advised. Definitely a new favourite for me and lovely decor inside
Used to come to this place as a kid back in the late 60's and 70's, then we used to use it when visiting my nan in Clapham, still the same lovely old place, great friendly staff especially the lady who served us, proper pie & mash. So good we took loads home with us
One of the best pie and mashes I've had, lovely smooth mash, heaps of thick liquor and a deep pie with loads of filling. I liked that it was in more of a bowl rather than a plate, it was almost like a pie soup! The shop was clean and I was served quickly with my family even at a busy time of day. Very pleased, will be sneaking back as soon as I get a chance
This is one of the best pie, mash and eel shops left in London. So sad to hear they are closing down!Food: 5/5
Love pie, mash and liquor. Been going here since the day I started eating. Unfortunately, like everywhere right now, prices have risen. Friendly, long standing family run business, that have been going longer than I have!
Superb, classic pie and mash shop At very reasonable prices.Food: 5/5
You will feel as if you've stepped into another era what with Harrington's tired decor and church pew-like benches, but this is more than made up for by their food! Tender stewed eels, a lovely pie, served with plenty of mash and liquor - and to top it off, a nice cup of tea served by beaming staff. A hidden gem!
Pies are a joke gone down hill more like pudding. Always stuck up for Selkirk Rd against West Morland Rd east street not no more. Been coming here over 35 years will not be coming back went on a Friday empty no surprised .West Morland Road queuing out the door.Food: 1/5
Always lovely. Pity I can not get there as often as i would like, as I moved out of London. But it is always my first port of call when I visit. Always lovely. The best in London.
