Went here for easy parking rather than the town centre. And it was. I thought I was invisible for a few minutes. I wish staff were trained to at least acknowledge your arrival when they're busy. Anyway I ordered two regular cod they dont offer large two large chips and a small cod without batter. Top marks for checking whether I had an allergy. Total bill £40. Ouch, but I guess cod is expensive these days. Both the battered cod and the grilled cod were overcooked and a bit dry but the chips were ok.
The poor bloke was on his own and warned us it might take a while to get to us, but to be fair he did a magnificent job and we weren’t waiting long at all. And the fish and chips were absolutely superb, couldn’t fault it. Will come back here next time we’re in the area.
We stopped in here when we was in swanage as thought we would try here instead of the ones in the town. The service was lovely but however didn't really like the food very small portions and the cheese on the chips was tasteless. It was OK for quick dinner but not tasty at all fishcakes was nice but very hard on the outside aswell
I've been to this fish shop twice now and I can honestly say it's the best fish and chips shop in Swanage. Cod is beautifully cooked, good portion size of chips and the curry sauce is gorgeous. 10/10. Highly recommend this chip shop!
Herston is head and shoulders above outfits like The Fish Plaice in Swanage. We popped in for a fish supper: 2 regular haddock + 1 large chips. The staff were pleasant, but it was cold inside due to the faulty doors: responsibility of the Harlees-Herston chain managers to fix this. Back at base the fish proved very tasty and the chips plentiful. Very good value!
