We love this little pub. Cosy and friendly unless it’s got its party pants on then its still friendly but with a bit more dancing. Lovely sunny garden in the summer, toasty fire in the winter, outdoor marquee for special occaisions. Run by a top team of locals who make everyone feel welcome. The food is superb value and quite delicious. Blooming marvellous x
Popped in three different times whilst staying nearby, warm and friendly with a roaring fire to ward off the wet weather. Otter on tap was the most local ale, two others available Sharpe's and Timmy Taylors. Lots of little chalkboards with tasting notes for the wines they offer.
For ages I have looked at this pub and thought I must visit. One cold windy Sunday was meant to be walking up to the nature reserve and beyond, but fancied a quick pint en route....nnThen I got chatting. Wonderful staff, great landlord and lady, brilliantly friendly regulars and my walk ground to a halt. But it was replaced with a lovely afternoon near the coal fire, with good beer.nnAnd finally, nothing to do with the pub, but hopefully to make you smile....nnI bought a crystal ball but only ever predicted very cold winters.nnTurns out they sold me a snow globe.
What a great find while on our holiday. Great little pub owned by the locals. They really are putting their heart and sole into making this a lovely little meeting place for locals and holidaymakers. Soon to be offering food. Has a lovely garden - welcomes dogs inside and outside. Water bowls and treats. Great bar staff who can’t do enough to make you feel welcome. Will definitely be back
Me and my partner popped in on NYE and everyone we met from the staff to the patrons were so welcoming and nice! DJ Carlos Fandango was phenomenal as well. If in the area again would definitely visit again for a few.
