Popped in, ordered and picked up 20 minutes later quick drink in the Anchor. Friendly, efficient service. Tasty fresh tasting curries. Would definitely recommend.
Decided to edit this review after being in Swanage for a little over 2yrs now. This is still 5 stars and one of my personal favourites. It’s a small restaurant with limited seating and is mainly a takeout. There are three Indian restaurants in Swanage of which Nihal does the best curry, but all three are decent and have their own strengths and weaknesses. Masala tends to do smaller portions, but is very central to the beach. Golden Bengal is generally just nice and is easier for people staying at the back of town. Nihal is superior to the other two in flavour, you get a good selection on there menu. I personally love the chef specials, really tasty dishes and if you like it hotter, just ask and they are accommodating. The one thing people need to be aware of is they prefer payment in cash, they have started taking cards though if you want a discount take cash in with you. This is my personal go to take out when in Swanage, over all other cuisines on offer. Yes there are better curry houses out there, but not in Swanage.
Friendly staff, and no long delivery or pick up times. Food is always excellent, and is priced well. Lots of variety on the menu, more so than your normal Indian menus. The chef is also happy and capable of making other Indian dishes which aren't on the menu and which you may have had elsewhere. If you wish to eat in, it's bring your own drink. Enjoy!!
Fantastic food, and very helpful friendly staff. The best curry we’ve had in a very long time. All food freshly cooked in front of you. Lovely and hot and good portions. I’d highly recommend Nihal spice, it was so good we had it twice in a week !

Super food at great prices. It's not exactly a restaurant, as it's a little basic for eating in, but that's more than made up for by friendly staff, good company and good food. Will definitely be coming backFood: 5/5
Lovely food and great staff. More of a takeaway place than a restaurant and it is BYO but the pub next door can do takeout. Decor is drab but service makes up for it. Food was v good and reasonable.Food: 5/5
Probably the worst Indian takeaway I have ever had. The bhajis were soft not crispy and the curry didn't taste of anything. The onion rice was also very salty. Extremely disappointing.
Had a couple of different curries rice and a side that came to just over £25. I expected that the 10% discount for over £15 as advertised on their menu would be applied but the server said that that was only for cash and not card. He said that that was a mistake so we have a breach in trade description and a breach in charging less for cash that has been unlawful since 2018 in the U.K. He sarcastically said thank you for pointing it out! The curries were ok, but seeped through the take away bag and the cumin has ruined my car mat. I’ll give it a miss for the foreseeable.
We have just had a take away meal, and i can honestly say it's the best Indian we have ever had. Thank you.
