It's a very busy pub, but the staff were really friendly and very attentive and couldn't have been more helpful. A couple of our party of 9 had special dietary needs, but the kitchen were able to accommodate their requests. The food is quality pub grub with a limited, but fairly traditional menu. I had battered hake and fries which was cooked well and tasted amazing. We all managed to fit in dessert which were also very good. The pub is not open until 5.30pm and I would recommend booking to guarantee a table.

Could not recommend this place enough! It has a lovely country pub feel with delicious food very attentive and friendly staff. We came for Easter lunch and had the roast it was so so delicious

A cozy traditional pub with fantastic food served by very friendly staff. The menu is imaginative and there are additional daily specials. The humble burger is taken to new levels and the smoked duck pate is wonderful.

Great pub to go to. Has real ales and a great, largely gluten free menu. It's the best place in Purbeck for gluten free meals. Also very generous portions. Note, though it doesn't open at lunchtimes except at weekends. At busy times you need to book. One of our favourite places to go to.

Just a humble pub, offering great, tasty food, consistently - every time we visit. The service is attentive and genuine. Best pub to eat at in Swanage by quite a margin.
