Never dealt with such a lovely bunch of people. I just got a new bike from Global bikes through my C2W scheme and if it hadn't have been for these guys I'd still be looking! It's just a little family run business but it's run way better than some of the larger stores I've visited and other smaller shops. The bike is fantastic, great value too. I applied for my voucher last Thursday, got it Friday, went to test the bike Saturday and had my new bike delivered to me Monday evening. Massive thanks to Rich, Jim and everybody else there... Happy pedalling!
Horrendous service!!!!!!!!!!!! DO NOT BUY FROM GLOBAL BIKES I ordered a bike from Global bikes expecting delivery within 10 days. After 2 weeks I contacted the manager Rich who at first seemed quite helpful, until i realised that everything he said to me was a lie. Including the following excuses: After waiting 2 weeks: "the courier was stuck in traffic so couldn't pick the bike up." After waiting 3 weeks: "he had a blow out on his van so couldn't deliver the bike." After waiting 4 weeks: "the bike wasn't quite finished yet" making the first 2 excuses pure lies! After waiting 5 weeks: "the bike manufacturer had sent the wrong parts." After waiting 6 weeks: "the forks were out of stock." After waiting 7 weeks. "the wheels were out of stock." The lies continued until I gave up hope and asked for a refund. It truly has been the WORST business I've ever dealt with. Avoid at all cost!!!!!!!!
I bought a road bike a few months back and the staff were so helpful. They helped me get the right size bike and made adjustments so i felt comfortable on it. It had it's 6 week service and rides like when i first bought it. We have bought bikes from them previously and they have always gone that step further to make sure everything is right, before you get the bike and afterwards.
I purchased a BH EasyMotion Neo Carbon electric assisted bicycle from Global Cycles a few years back from Global Cycle. The bike cost me £3100 at the time and overall its been a good purchase for me. Aftercare provided by Global wasn't that great but I didn't have a great deal of problems with the bike so didn't have to approach them for anything major. Recently I wanted to make a change to the front fork... replacing the 'rigid' with 'suspension' to improve the performance. I contacted Global Cycles about 4 weeks ago and spoke to a member of staff called Jamie, who was familiar with my bike and promised to get back to me to see whether it could be done with it being an unusual bike. I waited for over a week and decided to call him back as I had no response. It became clear to me that he'd done nothing to 'action' my request and reassured me that he'd follow it up. I considered myself a valuable customer bearing in mind the amount I spent and thought that I'd be contacted soon after to resolve my query. Two weeks later Im still waiting and decided to approach another firm to resolve my issue. I'm extremely disappointed with the poor service I've received from Global Cycles in relation to this matter, and would recommend that anyone considering dealing with them to think carefully. At this point I'm reluctant to even give them a 1-star rating!!!
Terible, frustrating customer service. I bought a frame which arrived quickly, but was supplied with the incorrect dropouts. I've been chasing them up to supply the correct part for over 2 months now. I've been assured that the correct part is either in stock or on its way to me at last three times, but nothing subsequently arrived. The customer services operative I've dealt with has returned a call once in all that time. Each time I call I either get no response, I'm told the parts are on their way when they're not, or I get a shaggy dog story about the manufacturer or the distributor being awkward. Wouldn't use again.
FRAUD - ATTENTION! I have placed an order for a mtb, after speaking over the phone with Rich he seemed helpful and hands on although a bit inefficient and disorganised. Following my payment, Rich promised to send the mtb asap and to update me on the delivery status. The mtb has not arrived yet many days after and Rich and all the personnel in the shop have gone missing: NO REPLY to my 5 emails, thens of phone calls and voice mails. I have informed American Express who have tried to contact them as well and are dealing to process my refund thank god. I am considering contacting the police in respect of FRAUD.
The guys at Global Bikes have been brilliant over the last few years. My winter bike gets a beating on my daily commute through muddy lanes. It's filthy. The Global team always get it back in great condition. One time they spent many hours cutting out a carbon seat post that was stuck. They took it as a challenge and I'm sure they didn't charge me for the labour. Keep up the great service.
Shortly after moving to the area, Global Bikes was recommended to me by a friend to have some repairs and suspension re-tunes carried out. In short, they were great and despite a few issues with the manufacturer no longer manufacturing new parts for my old suspension, the guys at Global persevered and soon had me back out on my bike without damaging the bank account either. In need of a new steed, I approached Global again recently to try to get my hands on a Nukeproof Mega Pro. To my horror, there were none left in my size and the spec I wanted. Rich at Global then trawled all other dealers and reps in the area to get what I wanted. Being the difficult customer I often am, I then changed my mind and asked them to halt their countrywide search and see if they could get hold of a Commencal Meta AM1. Not only did Global get the bike I asked for in 48 hours, they also had the suspension perfectly tuned and the bike ready for me based upon my weight, height, and riding style. What’s more, I paid much less than the cheapest internet retailer. They have also moved to a much bigger building that they have filled with the top brands of all kinds of bike gear at very low prices too! Keep up the good work guys, I’ll be in shortly to buy more winter clobber! :
superb company to deal with. Rich and Jim went above a beyond to ensure I was happy. A part on my lapierre mtb broke, a quick call in to explain my issues and my warranty claim was underway, 6 days later my new part arrived and was fitted. Customer service at its best.
Friendly team. Bought a custom spec bike over a year ago after being lent the demo model. The guys got the bike built quickly and have serviced it since without delay. Would and have recommended!
