One of the best stores that I frequently use for bike repairs and fishing gear. The store also has nice clothing and camping equipment which I browse through occasionally. I rarely give 5 stars but the customer service is excellent and the department manager Simon Jackson is one of the most helpful and kindest people that I have had the pleasure to interact with. Simon truly cares about his customers and did not hesitate to help me with a complex issue recently in which he went above and beyond to ensure was resolved. I highly recommend this store and will also tell my family and friends to shop here for this reason.
We've just had the most friendly and helpful service from Simon at the Saltney store. Simon definitely had a wealth of knowledge and made our purchase easy. Highly recommend him for help with camping gear. Thank you to Simon!
Went in for a replacement tent pole. There was 1 on the shelf but it was damaged. I spoke to a member of staff who got a gentlemen to help me. He said they didn't have another unfortunately but would I be happy with one that had come of an ex display for no charge. Needless to say I was very happy with this. It's this exact reason I go back to Go Outdoors, especially to Saltney. Great staff and great service.
Awful experience today. Firstly, I asked a female member of staff if they sold knee supports, and she replied 'if we do, they'll be with the footwear, won't they? They're for walking.'nI couldn't find any, but a helpful member of staff on the click and collect directed me to where they actually were, with the first aid kits, at the other end of the store.nI then went to use the ladies toilets, the first cubicle had faeces on the seat and the lid. The second cubicle had a bowl full of faeces and toilet roll. I used the third, and when I came out, the same member of staff was washing her hands, I said ' did you the state of the first 2 cubicles?' She replied 'I don't have to go in there, we've got our own, and it's not my job to clean them or look in them, it's nothing to do with me.' Her tone was rude, back in the store I asked for her name, she refused until I said I was going to find a manager, then said that it was Tricia. She then went to find her manager before I did. Manager did speak to me and apologise after I approached her, but this wasn't a great experience and we left without buying anything!nThe one star is for the helpful gentleman who did actually try to help.
Great store with a fantastic array of mountaineering clothing . Unfortunately today's customer service experience was poor to say the least. No basic customer service skills from cashier, no offer of a bag. Cashier took payment then as she was about to walk off I asked for a bag. The bag was produced then cashier walked off and I was left at the till packing my own bag. I may be wrong but from working in a retail environment when I was younger, smiles, manners and helping a customer pack their bag or at least wait at the till until they left was basic requirements of the role.
