A friend of mine suggested that I might want to 'update' and rejuvenate my beloved Coventry Eagle. Even though I was a little concerned, and not fully convinced ,that such a project would work he took it to Gerry Shields where, to my delight, the tired, original bike has been totally transformed. The result ,I am delighted to say, is a sympathetic take on an old classic. I would highly recommend anyone considering a similar project to look no further than Gerry Shields of Failsworth. Many thanks to everyone at the shop and to Steve for the initial suggestion!
Been going to this bike shop now probably about 40 years so know him well more like a friend to be honest had many bikes off him for me and later on my son's great knowledgeable Guy and always very Welcome when he sees you ! Once the day comes he retires will be missed by me and the local community cheers
Every time I have used Gerry Shields, I have been more than happy with the outcome. Good prices, good service and friendly. I didn't know what I needed until Chris explained my options and advised me as to the most suitable bike. And he wasn't wrong. I would have faith in any advice or recommendations he gave me.
Really decent human being , really honest advice , really great customer service and always actually try’s to SAVE you money , I think the customer comes first with Chris the idea being they come back if you treat them right. No complaints from me and I’ve never been let down nor had a problem he couldn’t fix even it when he’s had to make the wrong parts fits perfectly as I havehad an obsolete bike .good old fashioned customer service and extremely customer focused.
Recently purchased a road bike here through cycle scheme. This wasn't someone trying to sell you a bike it was about Chris listening to why you wanted a bike and then giving you a number of options to consider and try. There is a reason why the shop has been successful for so long and this is Gerry and Chris's ability to understand their customers individual needs.
The guy is so friendly and knowledgeable. He found a way to repair my mudguards without buying a new set. Will definitely go there for any bike things i need from now on.
Chris is an awesome guy. There is nothing he doesn't know about bikes. I couldn't recommend him highly enough. Fantastic customer service.

Gerry Shields is a long standing local cycle shop in Failsworth Manchester. Chris who owns and runs the shop is very friendly, highly knowledgeable with years of experience of old and ultra modern cycles. Chris just doesn't sell and service cycles. The big differential to other shops and the internet is his care and attention to detail, reasonable pricing and his enthusiasm to make a customer happy. I have purchased two quality Merida cycles from Chris, one 18 months ago which has been brilliant and one today for my wife. Why did I go back? Incredible service, exceptional value for money and I know Chris will look after our cycles for years to come. Thanks Chris, Gerry Shields gets a top recommendation from me and my wife.
Always loved looking through the windows as a kid, now I know its where i can trust a quality job will be done. No longer a selection of bikes for sale, but you're on bike will be as good as new when it comes out.
