Well, what can I say about this amazing place! We went for Sunday lunch, last Sunday and was booked in for 1pm. We came through the door to a wonderful welcome and the whole place was buzzing. We were very lucky to get a table and so happy we booked way in advance. We met Ivy and Tom and the welcome we received from them both was just amazing. They are so friendly, very welcoming and the energy we had from them was just magical. They have done wonders at this beautiful Gem on the Essex border and we wish them the very best, you will not be disappointed. The food I have to say was just exquisite. Absolute compliments to the Chef, we had the Pork and the Chicken, it was one of the best Sunday roasts imaginable, nearly as good as my Auntie Jules Sunday Roast The whole menu was stunning and in all honesty, you could have eaten the lot. The team that Ivy and Tom have also produced is just unbelievable too. They are all again very friendly, very welcoming and cannot do enough for you. Thank you again Ivy and Tom for introducing - Eliza, Abbey, Chloe, Charlie and Will to the Fleur De Ly’s Public House in Widdington Be sure to see us all again and I cannot recommend this wonderful establishment enough to everyone, to either have a Sunday Roast or to also pop by anytime, as the welcome you will receive will never leave you disappointed. A newly refurbished Pool Room, amazing and spacious beer garden, this place has everything. I would also book a table in advance if you are going to have something to eat, as you will be very disappointed if you do not get a table, so please be warned…… Thank you again for making us all feel very welcome everyone and will see you all again very soon. It's a very nice dog friendly pub. I took my two year old Rottweiler boy there and he got so much lovely attention from the bar staff and so many other customers with their dogs. Some people who haven't met me or my dog can often be wary of me a big-ish bald headed guy with a big dog like Zeus. But Zeus and I love meeting and talking to people who we've not met before, and once the ice is broken, people's walls quickly come down and realise that we're both gentlemen and nowhere near as scary as they might have perceived us on first sight. I can't comment on the food as I've not eaten there... But I've heard many times from many people that since they've had a new Chef the last four or so months, the food is really good. Zeus and I have been there at least three times and we really feel comfortable. A really nice and comfortable country / village pub.

Friendly atmosphere with brilliant staff. An always changing selection of amazing real ales and incredible food! The huge fireplace makes it cosy in winter and the big garden is great in the summer. One of my favourite ever pubs! Had a wonderful roast dinner here this afternoon!
