Out of all the Fitness First gyms in the financial district yes, I've tried them all!, this branch is my favourite. Staff are incredibly friendly, the facilities are perfect and the place is always so squeeky clean! Nelson, cleaning team/Manager, is obviously doing his job properly. They also adhere to all the Covid health and safety regulations. Member service managers Moses and Lucy are excellent at their job. Scott, the Health and fitness manager, Charlton & Khadija at the reception desk and Jordan, the Fitness consultant all deserve mention. Personal trainers Sav, Nas & Cliff Are the kind of trainers that customers can truly benefit from. I've been telling local residents and workers in Spitalfields to try this gym out. I like going here in the mornings or late mornings and it's pretty quiet. Sometimes I have the whole gym to myself. Lunchtimes can get busy, but during the Covid era, it can also be quiet. Give this gym a try and you may like it. Mention this review if and when you go. They've somehow made the most of the space they've got. The only thing lacking is a swimming pool. But the excellent customer service, perfect facilities and overall feel of the gym more than makes up for it.
This is by far the best gym in the City! The classes are hard working, well structured but fun and you can tell the trainers love pushing you to your actual abilities and accept nothing less. The staff are incredibly helpful and friendly and you really can train without any pressure. I am training to lose weight / tone up for my wedding in two months and the staff have been great in motivating me and generally making me feel at home on every visit. They always greet you with a smile and make the time to chat and assist where they can. Thanks team FF Devonshire Square!
I'm not in general a massive fan of Fitness First, as most of their branches, like those of all big chains, tend, in my opinion, to somewhat generic and bland. However, this particular gym is really rather special. Firstly and most importantly, the staff are extremely friendly and very helpful, and I would mention in particular Scott, Tricia and Victor . Secondly, the gym contains a wide variety of equipment. Thirdly, there is both a sauna very hot! and steam room. An additional attraction for me is the gym's slightly quirky layout with the weights area and studio separated from the main gym by a long corridor, which makes one feel that one is getting two gyms for the price of one. The only disadvantage is that the gym is closed at weekends, but one can always use the Spitalfields Tower branch, which is extremely close by and also good. To be honest, I was slightly reluctant to write this review as there are times of day when one virtually has the place to oneself, but one mustn't be selfish!
I really like this gym. I was a member of a different gym via company membership as well but this one is definitely better. The staff are all friendly and helpful. They also have a good range of classes which seem to have enough space for anyone who wants to join. Clean facilities, good showers, good towels. It gets busy at peak times 12-14:00 but that's to be expected.
A great gym with good facilities. The staff are very attentive and always around to help and give advice. I was impressed to see them putting additional cleaning measures in place before lockdown. Nice atmosphere to workout in, I highly recommend it.PositiveCommunication, Quality
This is definitely a great gym! Good size, has all the equipment needed and the staff is lovely! I've been going there since they reopen the gyms after lockdown and it feels really safe to workout there.. everything is proper clean and it's not too crowded.
Classes are excellent, run on time, sauna and steam is definitely a visit, post workout, large men changing room with abundant lockers. Good they got rid of plastic disposal laundry bags. E shape layout of the floor, so studio and serious weight machine on the other side connected by a short walkway.
Three week’s of going to the gym after lockdown and it is great to be back! The team at Devonshire Square are really focused on welcoming us back, maintaining all required protocols and the space is spotless. They are friendly and happy to be back too. We have been doing Spin and Pump classes and our instructors are ensuring everyone stays safe, and then we get on and work hard! Thanks DS team - we are so pleased to be back!
Had one very bad experience with a fitness first employee when asking about changing membership as I was moving work places. Had to complain to head office as this woman was borderline aggressive which isn’t what you expect if you are paying 60 quid a month. Gym is bog standard, nothing special and can get quite busy. PT’s are mostly competing body builders so expect the Bro talk and plenty of posing in front of mirrors while you’re trying to do some exercise. They also will try and persuade you to do 1-1 sessions with them, again all while you’re just trying to work out.
Poor gym in central London. Excellent location by Liverpool Street Station. Weights are split between two seperate rooms which take a minute to walk.between and everything seems to consistently be busy so hard to just do your excercise and head home. Sales staff are rude. Changing facilities are clean and better than most gyms you will see.
