Filmhouse cafe/bar is not only frequented by cinemagoers but is usually visited by patrons who are used to the excellent food on offer. The menu features a range of vegetarian, vegan and meat-based dishes all 9f which are delicious. There was a time when it was one of the cheapest places to get a great meal in the city centre, but food price hikes have taken their toll and main courses are now £8-12 (still value for money, but less popular with the media students). There is a wide range of wines and spirits and hot drinks. Whether dropping in between films, or escaping Lothian Road's grimness, the Filmhouse is a spacious and comfy place to sit and chat, or while away an hour?

The ever changing menu in this licensed cafe bar is every bit as broad and interesting as the monthly film programme. Expect world cuisine, imaginative, seasonal, hearty fare at very reasonable prices. Great choice of vegetarian dishes and kids will love to see their orange juice being freshly squeezed in front of them. Popular meeting place at the weekend - it can get busy!

Excellent little place to eat when going to the cinema, or just about any other time! Wide range of options, including those for Vegetarians, and prices are cheap! Worth a visit.

Relaxed cafe bar. Great for food, inexpensive and has veggie/vegan options if you want them.
