Popped in for lunch, attentive polite staff, no wait for a table as pre-booked, good choices on offer for light bites & lunch. Afternoon tea also an option - fairly quiet on arrival but certainly busy when we left. Thoroughly enjoyed our lunch with a lovely seaview. I enjoyed the vegetable flatbread & husband had the fish finger sandwich. Lovely coffee & scones to follow, nice atmosphere.
Staff very welcoming, friendly and courteous. Breakfast was very and so was evening meal. Room was nice just a few minor touch up's needed ie paint work touched up where paint had been chipped off the wall, cleaners need to clean the window frames better. Overall we had a lovely stay. Took my husband for a birthday surprise long weekend.
Spent 2 evenings here. First night was noisy due to ongoing building work and we mentioned this to a lovely, helpful and supportive female receptionist 2 men were slightly dour! She apologised profusely and arranged for us to move to the Carnegie Suite we didn’t know this and it was a dream! 4 post bed great mattress and bedding and a 2 person jacuzzi bath, 2 sinks and a big shower, slept so much better and so did my partner as he snored loudly in my ear. Massive thanks to that woman and I apologise for not getting her name. Breakfast is plentiful and a wide variety of hot food and cold buffet style. Evening meals are also tasty and large portions haggis tower was very good. Our first room was also large and comfortable and both rooms and hotel in its entirety was very clean. There is no lift so if you have mobility issues phone ahead. We had no transport so the hotel is about a 20 minute slow walk from train station. All in all we only have good things to say and would recommend and stay again. Thank you
Here for an afternoon tea with friends. It was lovely. Small cup of hot soup and hot sausage rolls to start. A wee brioche bun with smoked salmon and lots of sandwiches . Small scones , 1 fruit and 1 plain each with skooshy cream and jam. Not forgetting the lovely selection of decadent very sweet treats to finish! Wow! A load of tasty food and bottomless tea. The surroundings were comfy and quite plush with a lovely view out to sea. Will definitely return! Thanks for a lovely afternoon.
If your looking for a quiet night away , i would avoid . Lovely hotel great location and rooms . Stayed in the carnegie suite which again couldnt fault, only problem is your room door is next to the leisurd club door which means noise , opens at 7am so your woken by the door opening and closing only if you were lucky to have gotten a slerp for the noise of foot traffic and doors clattering right all the way through the night ! Best part of the stay was going home for a sleep !
