I visited Evans a couple of times last week on my rounds of the bike shops near me and would like to say how happy I was I did a particular thanks to Georgie?, sorry if I'm getting that wrong. I've not been on a bike for a very long time but want to start cycling to the office. On each of the days I visited the staff I dealt with here were all so helpful, friendly and were also very good explaining things about the bikes and extras to me in a way I could understand. I have myself a very nice Trek now and I'll be coming back here for anything else I need without a doubt!
I bought a pair of cycling shoes from this shop and because I was cycling and had only a small backpack I told them I didn’t need the box. No one commented. Later at home I decided they didn’t fit that well so wanted to return them. They wouldn’t take them because there was no box and insisted this was legally correct. No doubt it is and it could be argued that I should have read some small print somewhere but in my opinion this is very poor customer service considering the amount of stuff I have bought from them in the past. Why didn’t the sales person say anything when I declined the box? Every time I visit the shop it’s deserted. If only in their own self interest they should be much more accommodating and helpful. They said they couldn’t resell without the box. Of course they could. So it’s goodbye Evans and it’s Dale’s Cycles for me from now on. I never should have gone anywhere else.
The consistent experience I have had is that they will do whatever it takes not to fix your bike - even if the problem was related to a job they did previously. Although the staff are friendly, they are often not particularly helpful. I would not recommend for repairs.
Gave me bad advice and sold me inner tubes with a much smaller width than what my bike takes. I needed 28x2 inches which translates to 700x50c. The guy recommended me inner tubes that were 700x28-38c. One went flat; the replacement exploded at 50psi. My bike's max psi is 58. I should have checked the size in mm c before hand but the staff should also be knowledgeable with this.
Went in for a chain as mine had broken instead of helping fit the chain they smuggly thought to sell me a chain link tool it takes 1 min to remove chain links, refusing this and finding the staff unhelpful and rude I got a refund, credit as they can't reverse a sale apparently. And so now I have to spend the money on this pathetic store who have no understanding of customer service. I will not be recommending and will warn all to stay clear of the expensive, unhelpful Evans cycles store and brand! I will not be back.
Honest to god. If you see the same bike for 300 quid more in any other shop just buy it and dont be lured in to this absolute shambles of an organisation because they are cheaper. They are cheaper for a reason! Customer service? Bampots are lucky am on a court order or it would be an entirely different ending to this story.
Double charged for a tyre repair Asked for a repair on tyre due to it being flat, paid 20+ pound for new tube and labor after leaving shop tyre burst again due to a large piece of glass being left in there and not checked then was charged again for a tube as if it was my fault
Incredible service. Alan went truly above and beyond my expectations, being a novice I appreciated the guidance and patience.
I am a support worker. I went in today to look for a few things for the person I support with his wheelchair.. one of the tubes within the wheelchair blew up in store. 2 kind gentleman in the store saved the day by replacing the inner tube swiftly and assisted me with the chap in his wheelchair too. Massive thanks to you both !! Happy days .
Advertised as open I go out of my way to get there and find harris fencing shop is closed thanks for letting us know via google
