Fabulous little Bengal restaurant. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Great pickle tray, poppadoms were fresh and crispy. For main I tried the signature dish of Venison Nagawala. First bite had a beautiful kick of heat, the venison was very tender and cooked beautifully. The sauce was delicious, with the split lentils to give it a bit of texture. For the spicy lover, this is one definitely to try. The Garlic naan was good ,but the vegetable pilau rice was one of the nicest I have had.nnFabulous little restaurant, definitely one to try if in the area.
Having booked a table by telephone just a little while earlier one evening recently we arrived on foot to be courteously greeted and lead to our table. My sister, who lives in the village, had always assumed that this was a small place. How wrong she was. There was more than enough space for many diners. Any way, after ordering our drinks, mine being a chilled Kingfisher beer in a beautiful glass, I ordered onion bhajis as a starter and the garlic chicken curry prepared at the heat of a vindaloo at my crazy request. And it was spicy hot. Just the way I like it. Throughout the menu we were served by very friendly and efficient waiters and we left fully satisfied. In fact, my sister and her partner were so pleased that, after I had moved on to my next destination, they returned for a repeat performance.
Very happy to accommodate us at short notice and items on the menu here that I'd never seen before. A return visit is highly likely!
Very pleasant, obliging and friendly staff - and very tasty food. Recommended!
Lovely atmosphere and great service. The mixed grill sharing combo starter was fantastic. The Bappa Gost Handi was incredible. The only negative was that the peshwari naan bread was overdone and nowhere near as fluffy as it should have been.nnOverall, a fine eatery.
