A small homely cafe (quite intimate during quiet times) with its warm red brick interior although unusual music choice. The drinks are soft drinks but I think I read somewhere that you may be able to bring your own (I could be wrong though) We had the Abyssinia special, a selection of perhaps 10 traditional simple but tasty curry's both vegetarian and meat served on the traditional pancake like bread in the authentic Ethiopian way. There was probably enough food on the special for 3. The service was good with no overbearing presences and hovering but kind and attentive. A nice place for a different traditional and home style food.

Ethiopian food has been my discovery of the last year - wonderful flavours and a really fun way of eating. You get a sourdough flat bread (injera) with everything - it's like a spongy pancake, which you can use to dip into gravy and scoop up the vegetable dishes with. The food is traditionally all eaten by hand without cutlery. All dishes we ordered were very beautifully cooked; I would especially recommend the mixed vegetable dish, as you get four different dishes and flavours to try rather than just one like with the other dishes. The owner is very friendly and has plans to expand the offering to include live music and maybe other performance. A shame this restaurant is somewhat off the beaten track in a not so attractive part of Leeds - but it's definitely worth the trip! The prices are a bit higher than at our Ethiopian restaurant in Manchester, and a bit less injera is included, but it is still decent value for money.

Kind service and interesting food, my partner loved the vegan platter especially. I was looking forward to eating here a lot because I love lamb and the menu is largely lamb stewed, curried, grilled etc. However I was really disappointed as the lamb was so tough some pieces were actually impossible to break down, and some were charred to the point of burnt. I can't leave a good score - although I enjoyed the flavour of the dish, the quality of the meat, which was the most important part of the meal was very poor. I really don't like being in position to criticise because they were nice people and I really wanted to like it but I have to be honest.

Delicious vegetarian sour pancake with amazing curries. Plus a smiling and helpful service. They forgot about my coffee and then when brought it after I asked for the second time, the lady refused to charge me for it. I loved it and will be back!

Authentic, hearty, tasty food. The sharing option for 2 is a great way to try everything (be prepared to be very full). Friendly, warm atmosphere and great music. And if you haven't tried Ethiopian food before, you should - it's great.
