Recently ate as a Walk-in with the family at San Carlo, Flying Pizza, Roundhay, Leeds. We visited on a Saturday around 2.30 pm and received a warm welcome. We didn’t have a reservation but were shown to a lovely table in the centre of the restaurant. The ambience and atmosphere were fantastic and the service throughout from all the staff was faultless. The food was beautiful, fresh ingredients, traditional Italian, and there was a good selection for the kids who had pizzas which were a great size. I polished off a Chicken Calzone picture won’t do it justice and the good lady had Ravioli; we also shared some Calamari to start. Loved the viewing window into the kitchen and interactivity with the chef. At the time we visited, there was a large group table and the restaurant was approximately two thirds full. All service was prompt and it brought back a lot of good memories from time spent of yesteryear. Value was OK with drinks; Peroni on tap and strong wine list, and we will certainly be back, in a heartbeat. We were casually dressed, but the restaurant would suit any occasion, from family meal out, birthday celebration, group meal or romantic dining. From our experience, I can certainly recommend San Carlo’s Flying Pizza, Roundhay, Leeds. Kid-friendliness: Welcoming and friendly.
Our usual place to go most Fridays but unfortunately on our last 3 visit we were little disappointed with the flavour of the food and seasoning. everyone's group of 6 food were bland very very bland. Couple of our starter's came out cold as well.i think will have to go and try new places for now. Maybe in a year or two we try this place again.

Fantastic meal. We were greeted promptly on a Saturday night. The place was buzzing. The service was attentive and friendly. Food was awesome. I had been talking the place up to my mum and it did not disappoint. We had two courses and all of it was quality. Fillet steak was perfectly cooked to medium rare and the tuna was first class. Flavours in the pasta sauce were cracking. Would come back anytime.
Deeply disappointed and MAJORLY overrated. We went for a family treat as my daughter wanted Pasta so my wife choose Flying Pizza as a different Italian to where we normally go. All meats were Halal which is unfortunate for a person that doesn't eat halal and therefore tried the Mixed Seafood Grill as pictured. It looked the part but was very bland and one of the fish was only just cooked enough to eat. We order the aubergine dish which my wife liked but my daughter didn't enjoy her pasta and I felt there was nothing on the menu that stood out to me. Flying Pizza like other restaurants SHOULD put a Halal notice in their windows and/or menus too for customers. I can't see me and any of my family returning here again, especially anytime soon! There are far better authentic Italian restaurants and worth the monies too.
We went for my birthday dinner. The food is delicious, there is a great selection of fresh fish. We got some starters and then the lobster risotto and fish royale for the mains. The service is excellent. The restaurant is beautiful too. Would highly reccommend.
Had been really excited to try here so drove from Darlington, the manager who greeted us and took our order seemed like he was looking down on us like he made us feel like we weren’t good enough to be in there, well £200 later to feed 2 adults & 3 kids- Every customer should be made to feel welcome! Also he needs to smile when greeting people. Place wasn’t busy, kids enjoyed the pizza and lobster spaghetti, steak was nice nothing flash really definitely not worth the hype or money. Disappointed and felt very unwelcome.
Italian at it's best! 5 Stars We have been San Carlo’s regular customers for many years, we’ve always had a great experience. The food is delightful and fresh and the restaurant has a great sophisticated atmosphere, the outside area is airy and beautifully decorated. I personally love the smell of fresh baked pizza when you walk in the restaurant. San Carlo has a fantastic choice of menu, I’m a seafood lover and I have tried many seafood dishes from their menu and It’s as fresh as it can be, the scallops starter was absolutely divine. The staff are extremely friendly, the food order was taken in a sleek manner, Roberto the general manager is an absolutely gem very professional and attentive and the food is reasonably priced considering the high quality of ingredients. San Carlo Flying pizza has always been one of my favorite restaurants in Leeds and it never fails to impress, situated in a nice part of Leeds with free parking. Perfect restaurant to take someone on a romantic date or even a perfect family meal! If you are a Mediterranean food lover such a Portuguese , Spanish , Italian then San Carlo is the restaurant is for you! Definitely worth a visit!
