High quality and quick service. The staff cares about you and the food is genuinely Italian (I'm Italian from Naples and I know what I'm talking about). Almost all the staff and chefs from Italy (I verified by talking to as many people as possible in there). Highly recommended! It is also possible to just stop at the bar for a coffee/cappuccino and seat at the outdoor tables, like I used to do back home... (That's great!). By a needy demanding Italian guy when it comes to food.

Now it depends what you want from a restaurant... San Carlos is a great place to visit and have a great time. There's a warm atmosphere and it's a well presented place. A number of famous people have visited over the years - and the staff proudly present most of them. In this regard it's a place to be seen. If I were to ask as someone who lives nearby for Bentley drivers to not block the pavement, you'd get the kind of place it is. On balance, the food is made with great ingredients and is of good quality, however the key failing is that service is variable. Some nights waiting staff are attentive and things are served well; on other occasions staff are either so overwhelmed or disinterested that you miss out. Either way if you go at a busy time, there's a lack of leadership to figure things out.

Reasonably pretentious Italian for the towie brigade. People over dressing and then over paying. The food actually pretty good but they lack the tomatoes found in Italy to truly be authentic. What genuine Italian restaurant doesn't have any lambrusco fizzy red wine.
