This surgery have always been fantastic. However they appear to have a new to me telephone system, I was no 9 in the queue ever been that bad, took 25 minutes to get through and then the receptionist cut me off!!! Bloody annoying.
Despite the apparent improvements of Bugbrooke medical practise, I find that they are awful and most of their staff not all as I know there are some good one are terrible. At the start of this year I had a growth in my throat, and when I sat in with the nurse she had the audacity to question if I was making this up due to my anxiety. This was before her even trying to feel the very prominent lump in my throat. Through my own pushing and thankfully my work helping me with private medical I had surgery removing half of my thyroid, as the lump had grown so big it had began effecting my breathing. Today, I show up for an appointment, to find that despite the a lengthy conversation last Monday and booking the time off work because honestly god knows how long you’ll be in their waiting room for, they tell me the lady I spoke to didn’t even book the appointment in. No one even said sorry, just that they could try and get me in another day. Honestly I’m so thankful to the nhs for everything they did through Covid, but I have no thanks for Bugbrooke medical practise.
This place is a nightmare to deal with; the phone system is an absolute disgrace. It goes without saying: Bugbrooke Medical Practice couldn’t palliate their incompetence if they had a million receptionists working for them. You still wouldn’t get through. You would get hung up on, mind.
Dont need an urgent appointment so thought I'd use engage consult. Tried at 6.50am yesterday and it said closed try after 7am. Fair enough. Tried at 7.10am and it said closed. Clicked button below to see what time I could do an engage consult and it says closed. Just tried today at 5pm to see it says due to staff shortages it is closed for the foreseeable future! Looks like I need to find a spare hour or so to hang on the phone. Just dreadful@
Whats going on in our surgery? Its taken me all week and MANY phonecalls to eventually get a response to my query, my 3 e-consult messages were unanswered. I'm not happy, and I suspect I am not alone. Can anyone shed any light on this? I'm told its the sheer volume of patients using the service, but its never been as bad as it is now.
My wife tried to call over 40 times to try to speak to someone about our poorly daughter. She finally got through and the receptionist hung up as it wasn’t “an emergency”! Disgraceful! The system they have in place for “non-urgent” calls is diabolical. We understand that COVID has affected the centre but the service levels are disgustingly poor! I’d highly recommend registering elsewhere which is exactly what we intend on doing!
I have recently had an appointment at the surgery and found the Dr to be most helpful and welcoming. We moved here five and a half years ago and I was very reluctant to register with a GP here as my last practice was very hard to beat. I feel that the care both for myself and my husband has been of a very high standard. The receptionists have been helpful and accommodating. Working in the NHS myself I really do appreciate how difficult it is to provide us all with the service we expect. It is most important to be polite and to show you are listening, something I have always felt this surgery achieves.
Fantastic little practice. As a new patient, taken ill suddenly, nothing was too much trouble. The asthma specialist nurse was called and an immediate appointment was made. Thank you for all your help from the gorgeous reception staff - both shifts -and the nurse who assessed and arranged an immediate hospital appointment. You were all superb and yes, I'm still here to tell the tale! Just a very big thank you.
Absolute joke of a practice. We've had to report doctors for misdiagnosing my sister which resulted her haven't to visit A&E. I have been kicked of the patient list so many times for using up my prescription before I order more instead of over ordering and their registration process is a joke, only 2 hrs you can go in to hand a form in when if anyone has a job can't do, no one from reception is facing the waiting room
Reception terrible! When you finally get through you speak to a miserable, rude woman who acts like you've called her while she's watching her favourite film! Can't wait to get you off the phone. Totally unhelpful! Tells you they're only taking calls if it's a medical emergency so I diagnose myself then? at 3pm!!! This is not acceptable I thought the days of miserable, unhelpful doctors receptionists was over - not here!! Usually nice doctors though....but there is at least one very nice receptionist - refers to you as "my dear" - she's lovely. She needs to train the other one! UPDATE Aug '21 - Now, "unless it's an emergency" you can't phone in before 9.30am, between 12-2pm or after 3pm!!! And guess what? - due to the "easing of Covid restrictions, they're really busy". Utter joke of a practice!
