Has been my mother's surgery for the last 6 years since moving into independent living accommodation. Have nothing but praise for the doctors, nursing and the reception team. Acting as contact point and mobile communication very good. Regular 6monthly blood checks for the drugs annual reviews. Very good never failed to get an appointment or discussion of issues even through Covid. If I lived near would join it. Thank you
The worst surgery in the whole town. They don’t even bother to answer the phone and I went there in person and the receptionists were doing nothing!!!!!! There were 3 ladies doing nothing!!! My child was very poorly and all they wanted to see was a photo of him , he wasn’t even invited for a check up! It is a child!!! I can’t believe it how superficial the people can be ! You forgot to be human ladies!!!
Had a really bad chest infection, couldn't breathe properly and going to sleep was horrendous, it lasted for months and I was eventually given antibiotics for a different illness and it cured my chest infection. I was literally wheezing and couldn't walk anywhere without expelling mucus, doctor listened to my chest and I guess didn't hear anything and told me it's not a chest infection. I know when I have a cold/the flu or when I have a chest infection, could have saved me a lot of trouble if he just gave me antibiotics but for some reason the strain on my lungs from continuously coughing for months was the better route..? This surgery is about as useful as the dental practice next to it. Nice decorations for a desolate road.
Would recommended looking for an alternative doctors as you can never get booked in and when you do get booked it’s messed up from the surgery putting down incorrect contact details. Lovely lady on reception but not a good surgery. Seems they may have took on too many people. I will be moving on now after being with this surgery for 20+ years.
Im only giving 3 stars because its a mix of experiences. It really depends if you are lucky to be sent to a caring and interested person or not. I called with symptoms and was attended really well. I was immediately invited for a checkup and got my medication prescribed. although my partner called in on same day from the same household with same symptoms and didn't receive the same good service . The doctor didn't seem too interested in any other symptoms rather than one and didn't prescribe anything or offered an appointment. Later that night we had to seek help from 111 who funny enough prescribed her what ive been prescribed. It's a matter of luck people.. Trial and error. If you not happy with the outcome ring again and persist. Another con is that often their phones don't connect.. Often i get a busy tone. Their repeat prescription works well through the online system. It's a bonus.
If I could give 0 out of 5 I would. The doctors and nurses here are dangerously negligent, and it seems malpractice is something they simply do not care about. Below are a number of encounters I have had with them. 1 I had a constant headache, struggling to breathe and lost a stone in a week. Their diagnosis: I needed my eyes testing. What the issue actually was: I had glandular fever, which was diagnosed by an out of hours surgery in seconds. 2 I asked to try anti-depressants as I had suffered a self-harming relapse, something I have struggled with since I was little. When ordering my first prescription, I saw the GP had listed in his notes for me that I had never experienced urges to self harm - THIS WAS THE SOLE REASON I HAD ASKED FOR HELP IN THE FIRST PLACE! He simply did not listen to me or care for what I was saying. 3 Way back in 2016 I asked to be referred to the nearest Gender clinic. When I asked if it could remain confidential keeping in mind I was 20 at this point they said they couldn't guarantee it. I was only informed years later by a therapist that THIS IS MALPRACTICE. I tried to get a referral again a few years later and THE DOCTOR TRIED TO TALK ME OUT OF IT. 6 months after that I called the gender clinic who confirmed THEY NEVER RECEIVED MY REFERRAL. The waiting lists are now over 3 years, wheras if I'd been referred when I asked to be referred, the waiting list was only 6 months. I'm completely disgusted - their negligence is life-threatening. If it wasn't for the fact that I truly belive the NHS is vitally important for this country, despite my bad experiences with this particular surgery, I would be taking legal action. I will be changing my doctors as soon as possible, and I urge anyone still with this surgery to do the same.
Has to be one of, if not the worst surgeries in Northampton. Receptionist's are very rude and think they own the surgery. You can never get an appointment when you need it, i have a serious illness and in need of an appointment, which i can't get after trying for 2 weeks. You never get to see a doctor, most likely off playing golf! The surgery is a disgrace.
This really is the worst practice I’ve ever been to. Can’t book appointments in any decent amount of time, car park is tiny, doctors don’t really care about your health, and I was never advised to do a health checkup when joining. When I joined, they said that they couldn’t find any previous history for me, they also never sent me anything through the post, such as an online identity so I can book appointments through the web. The catchment area is tiny, they spent ages signing me up and then never told me o was signed up. They had a long waiting list, and said for months they weren’t taking on any new patients. Since I moved the GPS I am at now is so much better, light and day in comparison.
I have had nothing but an excellent service from this surgery. There have been several occasions where I have needed to book an appointment at short notice, and the reception staff has always managed to accommodate this with no fuss. The doctors have always been very professional and straight forward, and I would like to thank them for the excellent service they have given over the years.
In the 4 years I’ve been with this surgery I’ve always struggled to get appointments, been told to call back the next day, been rushed through appointments without being able to discuss an issue fully and felt truly like just another number. Very disappointed.
