MEDICAL NEGLIGENCE! After having a horrible experience with Robert Darbishire Practice, I registered with Dr. Ngan and Partners in February 2023. At first, I was very impressed with how quickly I was able to get appointments with the doctors. However, things quickly took a turn for the worse. 1. A severe and persistent headache started on 2nd February 2023 and lasted for the whole of the month. This headache did not subside with any medications, even those for migraines. I then had two telephonic consultations with Dr. Ngan and Partners during which time the doctor agreed that it was probably a sinus headache and not a migraine. He prescribed sinus related medications both times, but the pain did not reduce. By this time three weeks had passed since the headache had started. I informed the doctor that the pain was excruciating and had me bedridden most of the time. I also requested the doctor for an MRI or CT scan during the second consultation but this request was denied. I was also not referred to a neurologist or an ENT specialist despite the nature, duration and intensity of the headache. 2. I also informed the doctor that I had visited the ER earlier in the month as the pain worsened but could not see the doctor due to the long waiting time, hoping this would convey how severe the headache gets sometimes. 3. I contacted Dr. Ngan and Partners for the third time on 24th February and got an in-person appointment for the same day. After conducting physical examinations, the doctor diagnosed it as a migraine and prescribed a migraine medication AGAIN, even after I told her that literally no medications were working. I requested for an MRI or CT scan referral twice during the consultation but my request was denied for the third time! She said "there is nothing specific that we are looking for that would turn up in the scans". Instead, she said she would refer me to a neurologist if the headache persisted for a few more days. By this time, it was the start of the 4th week since the headache had started. 4. On 26th February 2023, I had to call an ambulance as the pain exponentially increased, so much so that I felt like my right eye was about to pop out! I had fever and vomiting. I was told that because my vitals, etc., were normal, they will not be able to take me to the ER. I called Dr. Ngan on 27th hysterically crying and explained my situation. I requested for an urgent consultation with the doctor but was told that there was no possibility of getting an appointment that day or the next as all slots were full. 5. I told the doctors that I was first on Co-codamol as prescribed by the previous GP but the intensity reduced. I was then asked to use Ibuprofen during first consultation with Dr. Ngan. During the last consultation I told the doctor that I had been on Ibuprofen for 10 days straight but she still asked me to use it to control pain. 5. Having felt completely and utterly abandoned by the GP, I had to fly home, to India, on 28th to receive urgent medical treatment. It was a gruelling 22 hours of travel during which the pain almost killed me! Upon investigation after getting admitted in India, it was found that I had a rare and an extremely severe infection in the Sphenoid sinus. The scans revealed that the infection had progressed so much that if I had waited for a few more days to get treated, I would have lost vision in my right eye or suffered brain damage! The infection had broken down the wall between the sinus and the brain and had started seeping into the brain, and the only way out was to have an immediate surgery. I was also told that the constant use of the painkillers prescribed by the GP was the reason why I had started puking blood on 28th February. 6. PATIENT HISTORY MATTERS! I had told the GP that I had suffered a scuba diving injury in 2020 after which I suffered similar headaches. However, this was completely ignored. The doctors in India found out through scans that this infection had likely started after this incident, with its final trigger starting in 2023.
I have left this practice now but I have to say every time I had any issue and called in, I got an appointment with the Dr basically immediately, most of the time a call back within a few hours. And this was multiple times in the last two years including the practice calling me to check on me and my medication without my initiative. Reception also always really nice and helpful. Overall would absolutely recommend, the staff at this practice care.
Just moved back to Manchester n booked appointment with the doctors. A big thanks to DR koh DR GAN n DR Robert CHIU for their professional n care they always listen to patients problems.by the ways I would also like to thanks the receptionist for their efforts. Sorry I have to emphasis that DR KOH also a v good professional n care n also listening to their patients. Thanks
Efficient and empathetic towards the medical need of a patient. I have been having regular check-ups since 2020 and satisfied with the attention and care from the doctors.
I was talking to a receptionist today about my feet,which was really painful for a couple of months ,explaining how much pain I was going through and wanted to book appointment,for a long talk,the receptionist hang up on me and ask me to solve my own problems,this shouldn't happen, I understand staff have problems from their homes, but it shouldn't be extended on patients please,

I registered with Dr Ngan and partners practice after moving in the area about a year ago. I can say that this is the best of the best medical practice I have had, my previous practice Ailsa Craig was so bad that it made me worry if this practice is going to be any good. The practice manager Sabia is the best then comes to 6 receptionist, just to name a few Sharon, Nicola, Becky, Beth are awesomely understanding I can ring the surgery and they will listen to what you are saying, although there is 3 surgery's in one building which is Dr Ngan's practice Dr Chiu practice and Dr Cunningham Practice. Now coming to the Gp's they are the best of the best no matter what anyone else say's but they all are very good at Dr Ngans practice. I am very very happy with this surgery from reception staff to the Gp's they have all the time for you and they are very understanding you can call up in the morning at 8.30am and get yourself on the call back waiting list and within a couple of hours a gp will call back. FANTASTIC DR NGAN AND PRACTICE KEEP UP THE WORK ALTHOUGH NHS IS IN CRISIS.
