Overnight stay at the Dene hotel whilst visiting friends in the area. The location is good, in Jesmond but far enough away from Osbourne road to avoid the late night Saturday noise! The room I stayed in was on the top floor and the main Room was dated but clean. Comfortable bed. The bathroom appeared more recently refurbished so was in a better condition, but the shower was not the best design with the water not contained as it is a wet room style install in a small area. Breakfast was good basic fry up with standard cereals and toast available. In summary, I booked the Dene as it was a cheap place to stay with breakfast included, and it was exactly what you would expect for this, and met this need well!

We arrived after midnight and were greeted on arrival by attentive staff. The single rooms are small, but pleasant and great value and mine had a lovely new shower suite although my friend's wasn't as new and nice. Breakfast was good including hot food that arrived promptly. The hotel had a lingering smokey smell that was difficult to locate (it didn't appear to come from the kitchen, perhaps guests have been smoked inside despite being asked not too). Parking was provided and Newcastle is small enough that a taxi into town on NYE still cost less than £7, so it suited us fine. Recommended if you are on a budget.

Fantastic budget hotel the staff were really nice and very helpful the room was lovely and the bed very comfortable , the bathroom was very clean and bright. The Caspian Turkish restaurant next door which could be entered through reception of the Dene Hotel was very handy too, I enjoyed the Chicken Dolman the Turkish waitress was very friendly My husband and myself will be returning again in the near future

Quiet location but enough eating places and shops in short walking distance. Friendly and considerate staff. Clean rooms. Full english breakfast. Room is warm enough.

Lovely hotel, did everything it needed to and was top value for money. Friendly staff and good breakfast. Id recommend to anyone staying up in Newcastle for leisure or business. Only a 12 minute average pace walk to West Jesmond metro station which is 2 stops from the city centre and is cheap to use!
