Absolutely gorgeous autumn-themed afternoon tea! We’ve tried many over the years and this one really stands out - the flavours were spot on and the presentation was flawless Clearly a very talented chef! Our server was also extremely friendly and attentive throughout. 10/10 definitely book they were also really good with my allergy
This hotel feels a bit stuck in the past. Our attic superior double had a very low shower, a child-height toilet, and no toilet brush. Music from a wedding played for some time. Staff were friendly, but I wouldn’t choose to stay here again.
Fantastic few nights away. We had a superior double overlooking the forest so nice and quiet. Had all the amenities you'd expect except tissues! We ate out mostly but breakfast was delicious. Really friendly staff. Great location in the Dene and very close to shops and restaurants in Jesmond or a short hop in the Metro into town. Will definitely be back.
Very disappointing - we were married here in 2014 and were really looking forward to returning.nnThe rooms are dated and the mattress was very uncomfortable. At 1.30am a group of girls in the next room returned, evidently drunk, and started to party. We called reception repeatedly and got no reply. Eventually had to get dressed at 2.30am and go and find someone. Someone was vacuuming in the lounge and came to our help. They stopped the noise.nnWe asked the staff member to brief the manager so that we could discuss why the night porter was missing.nnSpoke with the manager on checkout, who had not looked into anything. She explained that the ownership of the hotel had changed and staff numbers had been cut, but could not explain why the night porter was absent.nnThis used to be the premium hotel in the area but, based on our experience, I’d give it a miss.
Only stayed one night, it's 15 minutes from Newcastle Airport, but we'll be back. Beautiful location, lovely building, pleasant staff and quality, local food. The room was amongst the cleanest we've ever stayed in, the bathroom grout being the only place signs of problems showed. The rest of the room was immaculate.
