Great food. Pity they were out of eggs but the meals we had were great. The service we received specifically from one of the staff that served us was absolutely fantastic. Quick and very caring to her customers. Wish I had her name because she deserves applause. Thank you very much. Definitely recommended.
What a great place for staying, Husband and I stayed at The John Russell Fox in Andover Hampshire. It's was very clean, and The bathroom was also very clean. Clean Towels when needed and the bed very Comfortable. big thanks to the staff for all the work they did for us. Also the Menu for the food was very nice. I would recommend this Hotel to anyone and mostly I would stay there again. Thank you Barbara L.
I'm OK with many of the Weatherspoons pubs, due to good locations and cheap pricing. Although not normally my preferred choice. This one is particularly big and well located with good quick service and huge choice of well priced food & drink. However, for me, the ambience always let's them down and the food is what you pay for low quality but I'm OK with that if the mood occasionally suits. Food & drinks: Cheap drinks of great choice. Food OK for a cheap price.
As a JD Wetherspoons I wasn't expecting much but was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the room. Adequate bed, nice bathroom, good sized TV. When I arrived another customer was complaining because the room they'd been given reaked if cigarette smoke and their were no other rooms available, meaning they had to find somewhere else to stay. Mid week it is full of builders. My only disappointment was the food in the restaurant, its only saving grace is the cost. When my meal arrived it was missing half of the items I ordered and was lukewarm. I had a much better meal the following night at the Thai restaurant a few doors down.
Oh my god what slow slow service, sat a very dirty table we had to beg the server to clean the table then she only cleaned half. Our meals arrived after an hour the fish and chips had 8 chips on it the mixed grill had no onion rings and no explanation. We mentioned the lack of chips and the server went to get some more and never did return. We never got our drinks at all Argued with the manager or supervisor regarding all this and told we're busy. Oh I've got to go and deal with an issue in the hotel. Never again........
Look! We always try and use Wetherspoons but this is a tale of woe, honest! Called in about 1.45pm on a Saturday January 21st App wasn't working for some reason so done what 'normal' punters do. Went to the bar! Ordered food and told 15 to 20 minutes. That's fine they were busy. Thirty minutes later still no food! Asked a passing 'server' What's happening. Told they were busy! Yep already told me that! Five minutes later food arrived..... it was cold! And I mean cold! Now amongst us 3 we have 2 diabetics who need to eat to keep sugar levels up. We just ate the cold food and said nothing. What would they have done had we complained? Recooked, more waiting reheated more waiting or a refund? Definitely more waiting We will never know. Another thing is the cold food was very tasty I, don't understand that one! I know they were busy but cold food! Come on Wetherspoons you can do a lot better than that. Most definitely the worst food we've ever had in a 'spoons.
Well run, food is always on point as well as the service. Rooms are quite nice, lovely rainforest shower heads and comfortable beds. Right in the heart of town centre, very conveniently located.Rooms: 5/5
All tables were filthy, rubbish on the floor, It looked like there had been a riot, I joked with the young waiter/glass collector and said has there been a riot? he laughed and replied staff left at the same time today, so just me to clean up, sorry. we didn't stay.
How can you not love a spoons, quick, cheap food and drink and at this premise, served quickly in an environment with ample space.
Easy parking. Check in was unpleasant. Receptionist was unhelpful and gave wrong information about the food that was still available. She said there wasn't really anything left apart from pizza. When we spoke to the waitress she said nearly everything was available. The room was spacious and had a velux window. Couldn't get the blind to shut so called the receptionist. She said there was nothing she could do that night as she would have to get in touch with velux directly. Unfortunately the other side of the window was a spot light that lit up the pillow on the bed. The receptionist was very unhelpful and abrupt. Said the bar manager would come and see us an hour and half later which would of been midnight. The bar manager came along sooner and fixed the problem with a flick of a switch. The receptionist was called Kerry.
