Great experience from the off. Lovely guys to deal with. Actually have knowledge of the car you are wanting to buy instead of just blurting rubbish out. I had an issue with a rear parking sensor which made it work intermittently. they said take it to my local garage and they will pay. To quibble on it at all. All Sorted. Done. It’s nice to see honesty in a car dealership for once. Would happily recommend to anyone and would go back if I ever change my car again. Thanks again to Richard and Malcom
I cannot speak highly enough about Richard and his team @ Compass. I purchased two cars from them in January 2017. They were very knowledgeable about the vehicles and I had a full test drive of both. An issues that I had with one of the vehicles during the first month was quickly resolved and covered, and the rest of the after sales process was dealt with in a very professional way. They have years of experience in the motor trade and this positively reflects across all they do.
Richard put my mind at rest with his assurance and his knowledge. I bought a Mercedes SLC which was in 'beautiful condition'. Really helpful and very patient. Definitely recommend, thank you Richard.
A super and efficient service from Richard and Malcom at Compass Garage. All of my questions were answered, a test drive was offered and the car was handed over having had a brand new MOT and full valet clean. I have bought my last 2 cars from here and could not recommend them highly enough. Thank you.
Terrible experience with the owners of Compass Garage Trade The Audi TT I purchased for my wife was a catalogue of faults from day one. Initially the garage proprietors were ok and tried to address the many issues we had with the car but soon washed their hands of the problem deciding to blame me for what turned out to be a longstanding pre purchase issue which had caused terminal damage within the car My prefered option was to go through small claims court however my legal advisor suggested making a Section 75 claim against my credit card provider who funded the deposit. Barclaycard commissioned two independent inspections, the latter by an Audi main dealer, as a result the car was deemed beyond economical repair water damage to electrics, mouldy carpets and seats I have now received a full refund of the purchase price. Ok I've lost out through having a vehicle which I had to insure for four months but could not use. I've been told I can seek redress from the garage for this and other expenses incurred but I'd rather just leave this feedback as a warning to anyone else who might be foolish enough to consider buying from Compass Garage Trade. 27/2/2020 I was hoping you would reply Richard. Thank you! Firstly, had you not rejected the recorded delivery letter which documented the problems we were having with the car, you would be fully aware of the facts surrounding our claim. I have the letter as returned to us by Royal Mail To confirm, no goodwill repairs were ever carried out unless you know something I dont? Malcolm wrote in a text on 1st November, the vehicle battery was defective and the 'likely' cause of the seat belt pre tensioner/air bag fault was as a result of a spike from being jump started. The car had never been jump started and neither the initial independant engineer or Audi found any fault with the battery or evidence to support this suggestion, they did however find the plenum drains were, and had been blocked for some time. This had in turn caused water to pool in the car and had affected the electrical system which had caused multiple faults within the ECU and other for sensors to become waterlogged There are numerous articles on the internet indicating this is a common problem with the TT's. The carpets in the car were damp and mouldy which I was told by the engineer, it indicated it was a long standing issue. As for your suggestion the vehicle had been maintained and serviced prior to delivery, the log shows only an 'oil service' was completed by a garage in Tunbridge Wells. I have copies of the documentation including all texts with Malcolm which outline the faults experienced from the day I collected the car until it was collected by Barclays agency. I'm happy to add them as photographs to this post if it helps you remember things any better? An apology for selling a dud car and the way I was treated might be a better way of clawing back some credit with any one who reads these reviews rather than trying to dispute documented facts.
