The last time I visited was in September last year 2020, sadly it was all for the wrong reasons as we had to say good bye to Tyler. It was a Sunday and a difficult time with everything that was going off in the world. But the staff were amazing, the way they comforted not us but the love that they gave Ty in his final moments was second to none. They didn't treat him like a money maker, they treated him as if he was a member of their own family and I'll always be grateful for that.nnThank you Chantry, you are fantastic at everything that you do.
Such friendly, helpful staff. Looked after my dog and myself so wonderfully when he needed surgery last week. Our dog is incredibly nervous & everyone understood and appreciated that and tailored their management of his case to take this into account.
Would take the advice from the receptionist and go elsewhere. Chantry Vets is a money hungry business that will seek to thrust its greedy hand into your pocket at every opportunity. You’ll never see the same vet twice and everything costs an absolute fortune. The greedy pigs declared they need to do a £50 health check on a perfectly healthy dog, Charge £53 for medication that’s widely available for £19 and refused to waive the £27 fee for writing a prescription. Absolutely disgusting business practice, the second time I have been completely ripped off. Avoid like the plague and go elsewhere, I certainly will be.
Thank you to the team at Alverthorpe for looking after Roxy when she was poorly once again. We were worried her illness was related to the tumour she had last year however vets Francisca, Justyna and Lisa, along with Roxy's favourite nurses helped to reassure us. Roxy is feeling much better despite what her face says!
If I could score 0 I would. DO NOT RAKE YOUR PET HERE!!! Alarm bells rang for me back in 2005 when a vet put my 12 week of Labrador pip into what I can only describe as kitchen weighing scales. When asked after his booster when he could go out for walks. She said I don’t know. Don’t you know??? That should have made me stay away! I went back - stupidly for more in 2021 with our new lab pup. They conned me into a pet health care where they just change your direct debit at the drop of a hat. When you question this you’re told you are shouting at them and they terminate your calls. Will not give you a proper answer. They just repeat themselves to raise grievances in writing - even though I didn’t want to raise a grievance I wanted a simple answer to why they’d changed my direct debit.nWhen I did raise an official complaint they all quite simply back each other up and you get no where. No apology nothing. They think it’s appropriate to treat customers this way and speak to them in the disrespectful way. This clearly starts at the top and sadly filters down. This therefore leaves me questioning how they would treat my pet if I weren’t around. Moved back to Calder where we were more than happy for over 12 years previously and they’ve welcomed us back with open arms. In my option as the saying goes you get what you pay for. If you want to be treated with care and respect don’t go here.nAlso good reviews on here have been left by the staff themselves - 1 example for you to Google is Vicky Pearce… I think that speaks volumes that they feel the need to leave a “good review” for their own practice. Deeply disappointed and would stay clear will not recommend to anyone ever!!
