Receptionist is up her own arse!!! Not friendly at all. If she smiled her face may crack. I took my kitten precious to be spayed as i had a discount voucher i have never used this vet before and was told my kitten needs cat food. Not tuna white fish and chicken. My male cat who is now 3 years old has NEVER eaten cat food it makes him gag and my female kitten is the same i have tried a number of times. My cats my rules. They are loved and looked after what i feed them is my problem. Not friendly here at all. I WONT BE BACK AGAIN!!!!.

We have used Calder vets for years after being referred many years ago for our kitten. They have always provided the best care for our three cats. Two who have been seriously ill. I wouldn't go anywhere else.

When your dog collapses and you're miles from your home patch what you want is someone who will considerately and effectively help. Yesterday Calder Vets at Mirfield came through brilliantly for us when our JRT collapsed, fitting him into a busy schedule, and taking the time to ensure we fully understood our options. We were very impressed by the quality of the service, and by the interest shown in our dog's welfare. Results of tests were clearly communicated, and liaison with our own vets helped us greatly at a difficult time. Big thanks to David and the team!

My dog was referred last year and was diagnosed with giardia. She was not checked further then and no further checks were recommended at that time' just drugs and a course of vitamin B12. This year she became ill, and after a lot of vet visits, she was referred again when blood tests showed a serious problem. She was then diagnosed with Irritable Bowel Disease and IMHA. After research, I found that a) giardia can cause IBD and b) IMHA should be tackled aggressively. It says a lot when you say 'shouldn't she be on a higher dose of steroids ?', and the response is 'oh, that's a good idea' !! All the illness was clearly linked, as the insurance claim was treated as continuous, so I have to ask why regular blood tests weren't recommended last year. Some of the staff were kind, but I am left with the strongest feeling that treatment was not efficacious, nor given quickly enough. She is now dead, and I am left with the strongest feeling that her life could have been prolonged if action and advice had been more prompt and efficacious, and referral to a specialist made quickly.

Very caring; my dog Hugo had a slipped disc and was paralysed in his back legs. Vet Joachim successfully performed surgery and now my dog is walking again. All staff were so kind, they treated Hugo with genuine compassion. My grateful thanks to all at Calder Vets, wonderful crew. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend this surgery to any pet owner.
