I loved it. One of my favorite places. Southwark does a great job with public facilities and services like this, and libraries are fantastic and vital resources for the local communities. If you have a Southwark library card it gets you access to all the libraries in the borough. Very highly recommended. Also a great place to get a.coffee, tea and snack in a quiet and safe place.
Nice place to study. Tables are all around floors with enough sockets to use laptop and reading. Occasionally getting louder as there’s a kids area but not bothering me because it is a nice white noise which can help me stay focus. Staff are friendly and helpful.
I visited the library several years ago, and it was like yesterday. The colors, the carpets, the books, the views, and the café, still lively as in my memory, and comfy like at home. The new sections include "library of things" and "children's library ", which are beautifully designed. Even I wanted to play in there! Both classic and contemporary collections are available across shelves and sections, which are well organised and nicely displayed. There are also plenty of seats for quiet study, and clear signs for where to go if you want to find a specific type of books. Hope you will enjoy the library as much as I do!
Beautiful facilities and customer service. The reception team kindly gave me a brief as a first-time visitor and helped me to find the right spot to study. Might get a bit loud sometimes in the area shared with children but it's not that massive and tragic noise. Love the book group/club which everyone can join :
I love this library, it's got a great atmosphere and there's plenty places to work by windows. Good supply of books and more. I regularly go to check my health using the health machine and stay to enjoy a coffee by the water
Modern library with a nice ground floor cafe, Children's Library, Study Area and enormously big library for adults. There are many regular events in the library and it is truly a cultural hub of the South-East London. Additionally, it has amazing view to the lake, located next to the Library.

I miss the British libraries.. and have spent much time there as a student, as well as killed waiting time as a tourist, I many of them. I had stayed in an airbnb nearby, and couldn't charge my phone elsewhere. They are well equipped, with a lovely children's corner, usb docks, and: you can watch movies on a tablet there as well. It also seems they have a canteen downstairs, which was unfortunately closed at the time. Also, their receptionist a young black man was lovely and very helpful.
A delightful place to study, with great collections to choose from if you are there to indulge yourself. My September in London would have been dreadful without this library.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
If not for the noisy nursery and the personnel talking loudly, this may have been an outstanding library. Fortunately, I read mostly crime fiction, so the noise doesn't bother me too much. However, I understand that individuals who try to study are agitated, and, to be honest, I don't blame them!
