Tower hamlets gets its bad name because of establishments like this. The staff here are rude and look like they are being forced to exist. I visited the children's area and we weren't here for two minutes until a member of staff told my son to stop running. Firstly its an area for children with soft play mats. Secondly he was not running he was skipping across the mats. Thirdly, there is a literally a member of cleaning staff speaking on the phone on loud speaker not to mention people just coming in to use this as a place to eat but she doesnt acknowledge that nor say anything about it. Absolutely ridiculous to expect children to behave quietly and perfectly in an area that's designed to be fun for them to use. She had no interpersonal skills especially knowing how to interact with small children, she just keept shouting no running every so often. That's like telling a baby not to cry or crawl in a space designed for toddlers. My children were sitting and reading the whole time we were here but the other things going on around made it hard and distracting. We've been to loads of libraries in other areas and have never seen anything like this.
My main issue with the space is that it is not treated as a library, but as a day care. I come here ti study and sometime the noise is too high, and the employees don't seem to care. Other than the noise it provides a space to study although with too many distractions for someone who is very easy to get distracted.
Plenty of books to borrow. Joining as a member is very simple. You also can print documents here. The staff is helpful. Not all the desks have power socket, but still a nice library to visit. Warm in the winter. Thankful for this service at Tower Hamlet.
First time here Library has a study place which is much quieter and easier to study. Other parts of the library can be noisy at times. But overall I like this library for me to study.
Wide variety of books. Welcoming, warm. Saved me on a few rainy days.
I think this is a great public library. Water dispenser, coffee vending machine and plenty of plugs in the study area. It can get noisy but that's due to various inklusive social groups and if you choose not to be snobbish about that they are all quite fun and friendly.
Great library & facility for the community : It's got a nice area for kids, with a large selection books - our toddler loves it. It also has a good area for computer use, desk space, cafe area and lots of sofas to sit and read. Just off Roman Road, and opposite Tesco's its a well placed location.
Don't use the library very often but when I do it's most probably for important things to be printed off I was told that you can contact the library by phone to check if the printers are working Well I've tried three times now and it's an automated service and you cannot get through to your human being Please can you amend your services so you can actually speak to someone at these individual libraries I want star Google review reflects my recent interaction with your services - facilities and services which are on offer are pretty good on the whole but customer services has really let it down now hence why I've made this review
Good amount of desks, resources, and it seems like everyone enjoys using this space. Unfortunately there are always a few people that spoil the quieter study section by arguing/taking loud phone calls. It would be great to see staff be more attentive to this, or put some signs up requesting people to be quiet
Love this place, staff very friendly and helpful, wide variety of kids books and printing costs about 50p per sheet of paper.
