Reviews
Me and a friend tried it out off the back of good reviews and a strong social media presence. We weren't disappointed. They give a wooden knife and fork. I needent have worried. As the brisket just fell apart. Apparantly it gets REALLY busy. We went during football, so we walked straight in. I suggest being strategic when you go as you can't book. The drinks are very expensive so watch for that. There's tap water from a dispenser as an option.nStreet parking is free after 6 or 6.30. Sorry, I forgot. Check street view. I'd go again. Recommended.
Burnt Smokehouse: Smoked PerfectionnnBurnt Smokehouse delivers a masterful blend of smoky flavors and warm, inviting atmosphere. The brisket is sublime - tender, with a perfect smoke ring. Sides like creamy mac and cheese complement the star dishes beautifully. This is a must-visit for any smokehouse lover.
Been to a few smoke places, this one is by far the best I have been to.nnBetween the three of us we spent £75 in total and we ordered:nnx2 Brisket 200gnx2 Bird 200gnx2 Beef Links 100g sausagesnx1 Ribwichnx2 Friesnx1 Colesawnx1 Siracha Corn Ribsnx1 House BBQ saucenx1 Cholula saucenx1 House gravynnWanted to try the spring lamb but by 8pm they sold out.nnWe shared and enjoyed everything except the Ribwich which was a little dry. Maybe it's because everything else was so good we were expecting something amazing from the Ribwich? I don't know.nnDo not underestimate the sauces. None of their sauces are substandard. The sauces compliment the meat very well. After eating all that we were still left a tad bit hungry, maybe it's because we're big eaters?nnUpon arrival there was a long queue to get in. A kind lady who appeared to be in charge came out to greet everyone in the queue. She took time out to explain the menu for those who haven't been before which was very nice of her. This definitely help make us feel the wait was a lot less than it actually was.nnWe waited approximately 20 minutes before going in and the food was ready within 5 to 10 minutes of ordering. The turnover is good and very quick as they are constantly cooking food in advance given the queues outside.nnAs for the price, we paid in total £75 without any drinks, that's £25 per person between the 3 of us.nnSo what do I think about the prices here at Burnt? Personally I know the meat and the method of cooking demands the higher price bracket, it's very unique and the food is amazing.nnHaving been to a few similar places doing the same, and in comparison i'm going to be pedantic and call it what i truly think. My judgement on pricing is neither here nor there.nnFor £75 / £25pp it's just a tad bit more on the pricier side than what we thought of the food and how filling it was. Knocking off a fiver, totalling it to £60 would have been bang on. It's not much I know, #JustSaying.nnIt's a shame the venue has limited seats hence the reason for the queues outside.nnWill I be visiting again? Very likely yes.nnA solid 4 stars out of 5 from us.nnThank you Burnt.
Amazing bbq, prob the best I’ve had in London. The brisket is to die for, great smash burger & loved the lamb riblets! Decent venue, lovely staff & was great to sit at the kitchen. Already planning my next trip!
We visited on a Saturday, arriving at around 6:15pm. You can’t book ahead and there was a queue outside, which took around 40 minutes. Note that it is a physical rather than a virtual queue, but there is a craft brewery just up the road where you can get something to help pass the time! Also note the venue is BYOBnnEventually we were seated by the very friendly hostess. It is a self service restaurant so once seated you do have to order and then collect your food from the counter. The menu had around 6 types of meats plus various sides. We were 2 people and went for the ribwich, burger, a sausage, and 200g of brisket, plus fries and coleslaw as sides. It was definitely too much food! You do have to pay extra for BBQ and other sauces which seemed a bit cheeky, as did the “suggested” tip at the till which started at 15% and went up from there high for a self service venue!. That said the overall bill of £72 pre-tip for our sizeable meal was quite reasonable.nnThe meats were of a good quality, and they score marks for consistency as everything was cooked to the right level, retaining its juiciness. The easiest item to benchmark is the brisket, and I would put this roughly in line perhaps marginally below but it’s a close call with other highly rated places like Smokestak or Cue Point. The ribwich was also very nice, and a massive portion. The burger and sausage were decent enough, but didn’t really stand out. The sides were average and combining this with the overall limited menu e.g. no desserts, it did become more of a pure meat feast rather than a complete meal. Overall a solid BBQ venue, although the distance from home and having to queue up would be deterrents from future visits…nnNote: apparently there is some contradicting information within the reviews, but note that dogs are not allowed as of July 2024. The people ahead of us were turned away for this reason, even after having queued up.
