Story

Set up in 2002, Jamie Oliver's Fifteen is a restaurant that uses the magic of food to give young people the chance to have a better future. Every year the restaurant recruits 18 unemployed young people, aged 18 and 24, and trains them to become qualified chefs. The apprentices work alongside a team of 25 professional chefs in the Fifteen kitchen.

I found this restaurant quite confusing. I was under the impression that it was fine dining and, while the food was quite good, the place itself felt like a gastropub. The very limited wine list was also strange. There were just 8 or 9 different bottles of red to choose from, which just added to the impression of this being a fancy pub rather than a proper restaurant. I would have expected a much more extensive list.

My friends and I had dinner here on 27-Jul-17. Vegetarian Food: 2 Stars Flavours were just average. My meal was unsatisfying compared to my friends' who scarfed down their short ribs in no time. Non Vegetarian Food: 5 Stars My friends were visiting from California and said this was the best meal they had in their 5-day trip to London. Ambience: 5 Stars We were seated in the basement at the table under the skylight (which I believe is one of the best tables at the restaurant!). Service: 2 Stars (we had to keep waving to get some service at our end of the basement; we were served by 2-3 different servers by the end of it.) Would I recommend it to my friends - Maybe.

Myself and four friends had dinner here 25/07/17. When we arrived we were shown to a table and the waiter took our drinks which came within a few minutes. The starters were excellent, but the main course was average. Three of the main courses arrived at the same time and two arrived 5 minutes later. We also ordered three side dishes of potato cakes which everybody agreed tasted exactly like McDonald's hash browns! When the final bill arrived I noticed they had added a 12.5% discretionary service charge without asking. I asked the waiter if this could be removed as I prefer to tip my server directly. ( this is to make sure the server gets the tip and it is not retained by the restaurant. ) In under a minute the manager of the restaurant was at the table asking why I had declined the discretionary charge. This disgusting went on for some time with the manager speaking extremely loudly insuring the tables either side of Us heard the entire conversation and making my guests and myself feel very uncomfortable. And Sally for the action of the manager I will not be returning to this restaurant and would not recommend it. PS the applied service charge came to nearly £34

HEAVEN!! Too bad, that there are only 5 stars here. It deserves at least 5 million. The atmosphere wand the staff were amazing. And the food was the most delicious thing I have ever had. Totally deserve to visit! Strongly recommend!

The short rib was one of the best meals I've had in a long time. The cocktails are also unique and worth a try. Fantastic service. Classy but also relaxed.
