Mare Street Market is a large complex with various different options for food and drinks - inside and outside - attached to it.nnIt has a creative vibe. Often finding people with laptops working during day time whilst haunt coffee or lunch. As the day progresses it turns more into a buzzing bar area.nnThe food is good. Nothing too special. On my last visit I tried their Roast beef sandwich and french dip, which had some really good flavours to it.nnA nice place to keep coming back to if you’re in the area, but nothing I would travel across town for. Still recommended it for a casual creative café/lunch vibe or a drink or two later at night.nn- Value for money? Yesn- Worth a detour? Non- Best for occasion? Casual east London hangoutn- Would I go back? Yes
I attended a birthday celebration on the Sunday for a large group what felt like a private function. I noticed that there were no seafood options on the main or brunch menu served before 5pm, so I opted for the Veggie Wellington Roast with gravy on the side.nnFor desert the Pineapple Foster flambé with coconut ice cream caught my eyes, but unfortunately, it was 'sold out.'nnThe restaurant layout featured a beautiful chandeliers of various shapes and hanging ceiling plants, creating an earthy vintage atmosphere.nnIt’s a great spot for gatherings, offering various functional areas, including an outdoor patio where you can enjoy the ambiance, also another chilled section with warm lights were you can watch the World Cup on big screens, albeit on mute.nnAdditionally, the setting is conducive for business discussions, allowing guests to bring their laptops and work over dinner. Work space friendly.
Mare Street Market has been one of our favourite places for a while, and we often come here just for drinks, so it honestly felt like the perfect place to celebrate my birthday.nnI had a group of 18 people, and I genuinely couldn’t have been happier with how the evening went.nnThere was a small issue with the booking, as the specific area wasn’t showing on the reservation, even though the bookings team had confirmed the summer terrace with me beforehand. But the staff were amazing and still managed to find us a great outdoor table for all 18 of us with no fuss at all.nnThey also stored my birthday cake with no issue and later brought us all the cutlery we needed, which made everything so easy.nnThe drinks came out quickly, the food was really good, the music was great and the whole atmosphere was exactly what I wanted. It didn’t feel overcrowded, everyone had enough space, and all of my friends kept saying how much they loved the venue.nnThe staff were so helpful and accommodating throughout the whole evening, especially considering how big our group was.nnI honestly couldn’t have imagined a better place to celebrate, and I’m so happy everything worked out exactly the way it did. Thank you for making my birthday feel so easy, fun and special. We had the best time and will definitely be back.
A beautiful and stylish venue nestled in Hackney, with a nice range of dishes cooked fresh at an open kitchen. Lovely bar and staff, with various seating configurations that would suit working lunches, al fresco dining, a dinner dates suitable for singles, couples, families or groups.nnThe food was 5-star - as good as anything you'd get elsewhere but at a reasonable price.
I’ve been to Mare Street Market a few times now, and it’s always a really nice experience The food is always good, and the atmosphere is great. Julio, the manager, was my server, and he was amazing. Super friendly, attentive, and made me feel really welcome and taken care of. You can tell he really cares about the customers!nIt’s always a pleasure coming here, and I’ll definitely be back again. Highly recommend!
