Food was amazing. Second visit. Waiting staff member not as welcoming as previously visit. nandos style ordering system can be subject to change in staff discretion ‍ so be prepared and ask if unsure! Pretty much sear yourself and remember the table number when you order. In reference to the service - that staff member might have been having an off day- I hope Service was also a lot slower than the previous visit and a couple of mistakes in our order. Resolved before we left.. foods is good almost as good as Mama's cooking. If you go with friends and family you will always have a good visit! Large portions. Takeaway boxes 50p. Prepare for takeaway I'd like me your eyes are bigger than your stomach . Your company will make the atmosphere
A simple, no thrills apart from the sound system, budget friendly exposure to a taste of Ghana. Great flavour, huge portions, separate hand washing facility for washing hands and live dj with afrobeat. If you don't like music, this is not for you. If you are looking for a pampering service, this is not for you. If you are looking for good food, a full belly, and a party vibe, bring the right crowd, and you are good to go! You order your meal, pay for it, and sit down and wait. No thrills, straightforward. Take away containers are available and needed for 50 pence. You can't be shy of pepper.
Lots of tasty Ghanaian dishes, the portions are excellent and the service is great. I would highly recommend visiting Kate’s Cafe if you after some home away from home, Ghanaian food!
I travelled over 60 miles to visit Kate's Café with my children after a busy day in London.nnI've been here a few times, but nostalgia clouds my judgement when it comes to the service and atmosphere. After a stressful day, I hoped some good Ghanaian food would hit the spot. It didn't!nnFrankly, I'm fed up and never ever visiting this place again.nnThe service was absolutely abysmal, music too loud and inappropriate for small children, poorly communicated food availability or lack of. The furniture was falling apart.nnThis is 2024, and these people clearly have no will to cater to their clients in these challenging times. Eating at a restaurant is a luxury for some. It's a choice people make to get away from their daily strive. It's a big deal for some families. I believe the family behind me was celebrating something special. The service was absolutely pathetic.nnKate's cafe staff would do well to make the place more welcoming and wholesome.nnI doubt very much they have plans to cater to the younger generation of Ghanaians and Africans.nnNever again.nn
I love Kate‘s café. It’s real authentic Ghanaian and food. Here with my best friend and I always leave feeling full! Flavours are on point as usual. I got tilapia with fried yam, shito and muko. I’m Nigerian and love this place
