Story

Brook House offers an ideal base from which to explore the many contrasts of the Lake District. From rugged high mountains to gentle riverbanks and lake shores, working museums and attractions for all ages. Eskdale and Brook House in particular is superbly positioned to make the most out of this stunning landscape, walking distance to Englands highest mountain, 20 minutes by car to "Britains best view", Muncaster Castle, La'al Ratty Railway and the Lake Districts' only working Corn Mill a short stroll from the Inn.

Our imaginative menu, including vegetarian options and scrumptious puddings, is complimented by blackboard specials and a varied wine list. Delicious home-made food is available all day. Dining in our restaurant, bar or snug is always a pleasure.

We serve real ales, treated on their journey from barrel to bar with tender loving care. These include Cumbria Legendary Ales Langdale, Hawkshead Bitter and a range of guest beers from Local Brewers such as Yates, Barngates and jennings. We also have beers from many others brewers around the Country.

This is a really nice pub. Dog and child friendly. Plenty of room inside and just up the road from the Ratty. I had the beef and ale pie and it was nniiccee. Lots of local ale on the taps. Lovely nice interior and atmosphere.

Nice little country pub. The food is good and the staff are really friendly. We invaded with a huge group of six year olds and the staff coped admirably.
