What a lovely guest house, booked with little notice as other placed in the Duddon Valley already fully booked, well I hit the jackpot here. Alwyn and Paul couldn't have been better hosts. Lovely bedroom with fantastic en-suite, brilliant breakfasts too.
It was a wonderful, pleasant stay in a wonderful room with wonderful hosts in a wonderful, lonely area "Where sheep outnumber people". The breakfast is delicious with fresh fruit and full English breakfast with vegetarians options. The rooms are completely new renovated with a big shower and large, comfortable beds. The view from the front rooms is fabulous. For your stay there is a package with 15 walks provided and Paul, the owner, who is a local, gladly supports you to find the suitable walks for your abilities, wishes and the actual weather conditions. Nothing could be better. We will come back for sure
We stayed here for four nights and had a lovely time at Alwyn and Paul's B&B. It's a win win situation: a stunning bath-room don't forget the kingsize bed, a delicious breakfast.​ But the cherry on the cake must be Paul's knowledge about the Duddon valley and beyond, he gave us tips, advice and maps for some of the best walks we made in our live. Bianca & John We most definitely come back some day.
Superb location, luxurious, friendly and amazing value. Gorgeous large room, with amazing views out the window. Super comfy big bed, powerful big shower. Many fantastic little extras, like lights in the mirror, towel rail over hot radiator, dressing gowns, bottled water essential for a b&b in a walking area + biscuits and sweets take it from being a lovely stay to a luxurious holiday. I loved the fridge, with honesty box, full of wine, beer and sparkling elderflower. The breakfast is fantastic, and the sausage is out of this world. Local ingredients from people who really know what they're doing. The host is really friendly and helpful. Just wanted to make us have a happy holiday, and we all did. Offers great advice on where to eat and nice walks in the area.
Lovely place to stay, set in beautiful, quiet location. Everything first class. Comfy bed, great ensuite, the softest towels, tea and coffee machine. Delicious breakfasts cooked to order. Good places to eat locally. Lovely local walks in Duddon and Eskdale valleys, and further afield. Drying room if unlucky with the weather. Very friendly and helpful hosts with detailed local knowledge. And the cutest sheep! Thanks for a lovely stay, hope to revisit.
6 stars if possible. Everything perfect. Rooms are cosy and looking new. Bed is really comfortable. Breakfast is outstanding with fresh fruit salad and of course English breakfast. Vegetarian option even available. Very very friendly. We felt like being at home.
A real gem of a BnB. We have gone to the Duddon Valley for years. The hosts were and are fantastic. The breakfast and hospitality is top notch. The rooms were immaculate and were well equipped.
Just home from a lovely stay at Travellers Lodge. Clean, great breakfast and so comfortable. The owners were so welcoming, really cant fault the visit and we so look forward to staying at Travellors Lodge again. Thank you.Rooms: 5/5
