Three Star Gold Bed & Breakfast accommodation. We have a total of 6 bedrooms, consisting of Family, Triple Double and twin. All our bedrooms have en-suite facilities with showers. Each room includes a TV, Tea&coffee making facilities, and a Hairdryer. We also have a room suitable for visitors with mobility difficulties

My daughter and I stayed with Lesley and Neil for 4 nights in early April. We had the most amazing time and they were both so friendly and really funny!!. Little extras like home made bread and shortbread and Lesley kindly provided gluten free bread and biscuits for me. The breakfasts were excellent including daily specials. Our room was very clean and comfortable. The bus stop is right outside and the bus goes straight into Edinburgh central but just take care to find the right bus coming back!! Brae Lodge is a great place to stay as a base to see all the sights in and around Edinburgh. We absolutely loved it. Thank you Lesley and Neil for a great time and some brilliant conversations and good laughs. Highly recommend. Elizabeth and Sabrina. Food & drinks: Excellent breakfast and great choice. Lesley and Neil are excellent hosts.
Lesley and Neil helped make our short stay in Edinburgh a success. The welcome was warm, the room was sober but equipped with every comfort and the full breakfast was enough to get us through the day. Many thanks also for the restaurant tips. The Old Bell-pub and the Indian restaurant Pataka were a perfect end to our day. Walkability: The bus stop is less than a minute from the guest house.
We absolutely loved our stay at Brae Lodge Guest House! Neil and Lesley were fantastic, friendly hosts. The breakfasts were delicious. Two bus lines are just outside the door #7 and #37 that could take us to and from Old Town. It is also walking distance to some nice pubs. We stayed in several B and B's at our time in Scotland and this was my favorite. The bathroom is a little dated but otherwise the bed, pillows and sheets were all super comfortable and the hosts were delightful!
A beautiful guesthouse. We had a big room with a fluffy carpet and a great view. All the essentials and more are provided. The hosts Leslie and Neil are really lovely people. Leslie makes the best breakfast, everything freshly homemade and delicious, while Neil is tending to the guests. There is a variety of à la carte breakfast options or the daily special you can choose from. They are also both very funny so you will for sure have a good start to your day with a good breakfast and a good laugh. Different buses will bring you to the city centre in about 10-15 Minutes. I am a big fan of Edinburgh's public transport in general. It is very intuitive and easy to use. We really enjoyed our stay and if come back to Edinburgh one day we hope that there is a free room for us at the Brae Lodge. Only thing to keep in mind especially when from germany is that there is no Klobürste :D Food & drinks: Delicious homemade and when possible locally sourced breakfast.
I had such a lovely stay at Brae Lodge. Lesley and Neil are fabulous hosts, they were so kind, pleasant and accommodating. While located a little outside of city centre, Brae Lodge is situated on a very well serviced bus route which makes getting in and out of "downtown" very easy. I typically opted to walk ~45 minutes as that's a great way to stop in at different places and get a feel for a city. The food was DELICIOUS, Lesley prepares almost everything from scratch and they're sustainability-oriented which I look for when I travel. I would absolutely recommend Brae Lodge if you're visiting Edinburgh!
Lesley and Neil are wonderful hosts. We had wonderful breakfast daily. They helped us get around town and provided advice. Lesley is an amazing chef with daily breakfast special and sweet treats. If she ever decides to do an online baking class, we are there!!! The location is really close to public transportation.. the 3 of us stayed in the larger room. There was enough spa ce for us and we each got our own bed, which was amazing and greatly appreciated, especially with the jet lag. If you are looking for a quiet bed and breakfast with good people, look no further, this is it! Thank you, Neil and Lesley for a wonderful stay, good food, great sweet treats and good memories!!
Stayed here in May 2022. Lesley and Neil are the perfect hosts, very knowledgeable and willing to assist in whatever way they can. Lesley is a great chef. We tried different breakfast options each day and our tastebuds were not disappointed. Our rooms were en suite and extremely comfortable. Our hosts paid careful attention to ensure all Covid protocols were followed. The B&B is very conveniently located close to a bus stop for easy access to downtown Edinburgh. I would highly recommend this B&B to anyone.
We chose this B&B for its location for a five night stay. It was clean and the bed was comfortable. Lesley’s homemade goodies were delicious however i missed the shortbread that was advertised to be in our room. I would have liked to have tried it! Maybe next time…Rooms: 4/5
I stayed here between September 16-18 and it was one of the best decisions I’ve made during my trip . Firstly Neil and Lesley are such welcoming and kind people. They were soo patient with me despite all the issues I was having trying to book the room difficult communication because I’m Canadian don’t have a UK phone plan and my bank forgetting I’m overseas and locking my card.. long story I arrived feeling super stressed but as soon as I stepped in the doors my anxiety like washed away. I’m not even joking this place made me feel the most relaxed out of everywhere else I visited. Firstly I knew the place was going to be super clean as soon as I got to meet the hosts and I was completely right I got to my room and it was exactly like the picture. It was sooo clean you can tell Neil and Lesley really put care into making this place picture perfect for their guests. I loved the location as well, it was close enough to the city centre but on the opposite side is a more quiet area with more nature I personally loved the balance so much. And finally the breakfast. Lesley is an amazing cook. The food was all homemade, delicious and very filling. It’s in the form of a restaurant you get coffee/juice, a starter, the main course and we also got to try her baking afterwards. This is so long sorry but to make it short this is a really an amazing place and I absolutely recommend itNeil and Lesley are super friendly you will have great time here
