Recommend. Maybe it is not the best location but the commute, like buses, are stable and the price is reasonable especially if you buy day passes. Like some of the small businesses, they don’t fix some minor interior facilities like the toilets door lock. Anyway, the design of rooms is elegant and the rooms are big when compared to other more expensive hotel near town centre. The price is much more reasonable than those in old and new towns. I discovered a restaurant room that have a fire to keep warm at night, I sat on the leather sofa for reading for about an hour and thought that there is not many hotels can provide this venue to spend a quiet night. The food is not the best and the variety is limited. Staff are always speak in a polite tone to their customers. I enjoyed living there for 2 nights and it saved me some money for other expenses in the trip. Highly recommended if you don’t care a 3 stars hotel. One more thing, the windows in my room are big and bright, I like it.
We loved it. We were warmly greeted by the host. There was complimentary sherry in our room. They also have a bar which you can help yourself to drinks which works on an honesty system. There's a fireplace in the lounge to sit in front of. Nothing was a problem for the staff. Bus outside the door to take you into the city centre approximately 15mins. Highly recommended
Cannot fault at all, easy check in, polite and friendly staff, room was amazing, and the little extras just topped it off like the complimentary sherry or the lovely products in the bathroom. Plus free car parking!!nnWould definitely book again, 4* for location as would just be a bit easier if closer to the city centre, however it's a short taxi / bus ride away so no big issues there. Nice and quiet from road noise as well so no issues.nnRoom was lovely, 4 poster bed, bath, shower, tea coffee making facilities again cannot fault at all.nnWould definitely stay again.
We stayed in October 2023. On the first evening the carpet in our room was considerably wet due to cleaning. Our room and bathroom was tired and I felt it more of a 3* hotel rather than 4*.nnThat night another guest walked into our room with their own set of keys. There had been a mix-up with the rooms. The staff were apologetic and said they would compensate us/provide a gesture, but this did not happen. They also suggested we had to move rooms after two days, despite that the room mixup was not our fault. I explained that it was my birthday the following day and the staff said they would arrange a gesture but again, this did not happen.nnTwo days later we asked about having to pack up and move rooms but thankfully this was not necessary.nnWe are vegetarian and asked if they provided any vegetarian sausages as part of their cooked breakfast as most hotels do. Unfortunately this was not possible which was disappointing.nnWe were disappointed with our stay overall and felt that the staff/management could have done more to make our stay more comfortable. That being said, the lady on the front desk on our penultimate day was very nice and apologetic and provided great recommendations for things to do in the area. The location is also excellent.
This hotel makes for a nice stop however it isn't 4 star as the name suggests. I feel they've set the bar too high by claiming that they are.nThe rooms were clean and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was good and the staff was very friendly.
