It's a little tired but great experience for us. Had private beginners lesson with my 3 kids. Staff and Emily our instructor were great. Very patient with kids and the slope and lifts were quiet. We got a lot more out of it than previous lesson on newer slope. Thanks.
After 10 years off the slopes I was nervous about getting back on , so phoned in for advice on what I should do ,Receptionist was really helpful and really worked to find the right solution. On the visit ,the instructor spent lots of time explaining and demonstrating the techniques needed. Slopes were busy but everyone was patient and no issues at all. Prices compared to “ski resorts” are really competitive with lots of offers - worth learning before you go abroad and save some money!
Needs massive investment to bring up to date. Overall staff friendly, but everything needs a facelift. Food in the cafe is awful, waited 25 minutes for a frozen jacket potato with beans, a hot dog which looked and tasted like it had been eaten already and a burger which had unrecognisable bits of brown on the bun all served by an unsmiling person behind the counter. The rink and the slope is a fantastic thing to have in Bracknell but it needs love and money.
Took my 3 sons 14, 11, 9 there during the October half term for a day SKIING instruction. The state of the building was very run down and smelt. The carpets were threadbare. No investment for the last 20 years. Bring your own clothes AND GLOVES, unless you want to go through a lost property tub that health and safety would close down if they knew about it. For a full day course, there was no assessment of skill, no agenda given to the participants. So if your child is in the wrong group - he will be there all day, and waste his time, and your money. I would advise to take your own lunch, or order the sandwich option. The rest is unhealthy. At 3pm they are on an ICE RINK for an hour no - I didnt know either, where all 3 of my sons were injured. I took one to hospital for a sprained wrist. Other two banged their heads on the ice. Management seem to think all the above is fine. I won't be going back.
Brought my nine year old daughter to the Skiing Activity Camp for a day of the February half-term. The place is shabby and ill-maintained. After the first day my daughter had huge bruises from falls caused by her skis catching on rips and tears in the carpet. However, she was very keen learning to ski and enjoyed the social bit, so I took her there for another day. I wish I hadn't. She crashed into a pile of snow tubes, hit her head - no helmet was provided luckily her skiing goggles softened the impact - and hurt her knee, as the bindings failed to release. The ski manager told me this was because "the way in which she fell" and that her bindings had been tightened up because "the idea being that she is not as likely to fall over". That idea is evidently completely deranged and extremely dangerous. I've skied on green, blue and red slopes with the same "beginner" setting and never did the bindings fail to release whenever I'd fall and never was there a problem with skis coming off unduly. My child became a victim of their incompetence. Much as it seems a fun idea for school holidays, the fact that children are allowed to ski without helmets, the abysmal state of the slopes, incompetent setting of ski bindings plus the attitude that injuries are part of the deal make this place hazardous and highly inappropriate for children learning to ski.
Came here to learn snowboarding before my first skiing holiday. Booked three consecutive lessons, and got some free usage credits on my account too. The instructors - Sasha, Brandon and Jason - were all very friendly and knowledgeable. After just a few lessons, I was ready to snowboard solo on the main slope, which was really exciting! Very good experience here, looking forward to going again.
I can't thank the manager and staff highly enough. They were all lovely, super helpful and I think went above and beyond to help us when we had a confusion over timing. They saved my sons and his friends joint party. Everyone had a great time. Thank you!
Absolutely rubbish. I have been to the John nike centre before to get lessons and only want back recently to realize what a dump the place was. As you walk into reception it is smelly and nothing seems clean, its as if they haven't even bothered to hire any cleaners whatsoever. The carpet is worn and has holes and everything seems old and run down. Seems that no effort has been given to the place as no changes have been made. Me and my mum headed to the slopes and started on the training slope as my mum hadn't skiied on artificial snow and it has been a long time since I had too. Me and my mum are good skiiers and we know what to do etc. So when we reach the top we ski down and can't then at all because of the rubbish quality of the material on the slopes. There are rips and tears in the slopes which can cause falling and it does really hurt if you fall over on their slopes because of the material. The material is dirty and ruined my coat and trousers because of the amount of dirt rubbed onto my clothes off of the slopes. Also when I walked into the ski and boot rental the skis and boots were covered in the muck from the slopes. Unsurprisingly this place didn't wash the boots that are returned. All in all this place is a dump and I recommend other places as this is not with paying for. If I could I would rate this 0 stars for the lack of cleanness and staff quality. A waste of money and time
Most unpleasant skiing experience ever. Avoid this place and go to ski slope in Hatfield instead it's so much better. All you will get for your money in Bracknell is unhelpful and unprofessional staff, skis that aren't properly serviced run down ski slope that hasn't been maintained since 80's. Best part was staff member bringing box of lost property gloves wet and stinky ones asking us to wear them... Sunday afternoon we were the only 3 people on the slope... That says it all I guess.
My son and his friends wanted to have a broomball party so I contacted this place. My first call to them was on Monday and the staff took my details and promised to call me back as they needed to check the availability. But I never received a call back. I called them on Tuesday then Wednesday then everyday till Friday as I didn’t want to disappoint my son. However every time they just promised to call me back but unbelievably they never did. Eventually they explained after I’ve been chasing dozens of times that they needed to get the confirmation from the manger as without it they couldn’t do anything. I asked whether they could ask the manger today then I was told the manager didn’t work there everyday. Gosh for the whole week there was no manager? I asked whether they could contact the manager then they said there were different managers. I said I didn’t understand why the managers were taking so long to check the availability and the answer was the managers were “very busy every day and have lots of things to deal with”. What sort of management is that? How unorganised are they? As you can imagine I was very angry. I felt this was rude and disrespectful. I had decided that place is not for us as we can’t have party with someone who doesn’t give respect to customers.
