Was a very nice day out and they had a lot to see along the way. The only thing I would say is book online as the prices are different and we had to pay nearly £80 for a family ticket on the day with kids with us we could not say no after all the excitement. The cafe is nice as well and bodium castle you get a 10% off with the tickets , we just went round the outside but there was a nice cafe there as well.
Last minute visit, Had visited the old dairy tap house for a drink and a Steam train was waiting in the station! What's not to like. Bought a couple of tickets and we were off . Beautiful ride though the Kent and Sussex countryside to Bodiam. Walk to the castle and to the pub ,Then returned. Fantastic way to spend a spring day.Visited onPublic holidayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedYes
It’s likely you’ll start your steam adventure in Tenterden, at the other end of the line, but Bodiam is a pleasant station a short five minute walk from a country pub The Castle Inn and Bodiam Castle itself. Otherwise it’s a fairly quiet area, so you likely won’t need a whole day here. If you found my review or photos helpful please leave a quick thumbs up Thank you!
Just 5 minutes walk from Bodiam castle this little historical railway station is look back in our recent history of families coming to the countryside to harvest hops which once common here! You can purchase tickets online for those interested in a historical train ride Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedYes
Disappointing visit over Easter Glamping coach £1k/wk , not surprising it was empty. Like the railway itself its extreme end expensive. Haven't they heard of the cost of living crisis? £53 for two of us and as a result the Easter bank holiday five carriage train was almost empty. About ten people, five staff! Under 5% loaded. Charitable trust or avaricious business?
Really interesting displays on the station's history snd within walking distance of Bodiam Castle.Visited onWeekendReservation recommendedYes
Great steam railway, really feels like you are back to the age of steam again. The station is exactly like you would expect an old steam railway station to be, with all the old posters up around the station. The station staff are really helpful and friendly and very smart. The station has a lovely big cafe serving sandwiches tea coffee and soft drinks and hot food. The toilets are very clean. The shop stocks lots of postcards keyrings and guide books. There is also a exhibition of trains and a Colonel Stephens museum. It's lovely to see the steam engines and the carriages have been lovingly restored and are beautiful. I was in first class and the seats are so comfy and the suspension is so good. The tickets are very reasonable priced and you could get a platform ticket for a £1, if you would like to visit the cafe or museum. Great trip to Bodiam and back, to visit the castle. Lovely day out from young and old alike.
Had a fantastic day trip with the family. Really impressed with the train as it was MASSIVE! All the staff were so friendly and we went at Easter where there were Easter quizzes and games to play. Dog friendly and really lovely views.Visited onWeekendWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedYes

Wonderful example of a heritage steam railway. Tenterden station is a fascinating place. Journey through the countryside to Bodiam. Beautiful scenes seeing various breeds of butterflies, a herd of Fallow deer and a Little Egret. Well worth a trip on.Visited onWeekdayWait timeNo waitReservation recommendedNo
