I’ve been here many times throughout the years but this year was the first time doing the Santa Experience and it was fantastic.nnEspecially recommend this to people who’ve never been here before. Reasonably priced and staff are super friendly, knowledgeable and overall great vibes!nnI believe the whole trip was roughly about 45 minutes and the kids get to meet Santa and Elves!
Great value for money, our 7 year old loved it, her first time on a steam train she enjoyed looking at how they shovel coal into the fire to make it go, she loved the fake snow also and most of all loved seeing Santa, it was nice that all the gifts were different and cater to each child's age and she loved doing her activities book while on the journey.nnI wanted to say a massive well done the the staff the carriage we were sat on I believe there was some confusion and mix up regarding disabled seating nothing to do with us I feel the staff handled the situation the best they could and do feel bad that someone in particular was quite rude to them, people seem to forget that a lot of the people there are volunteers and choose to help out at this time and also people need to remember that there is a lot of little ears that hear what your saying so mind what you say next time please. Well done to all the staff you done an amazing job
The Santa Specials train ride really exceeded our expectations. The friendly team who hosted our journey made it truly special for our children aged 9 & 7, and we parents loved it too. The whole experience felt authentic and magical, from the historic steam locomotive to the included family photo, complimentary mulled wine and carousel. We thought it was excellent value for a traditional Christmas experience and will be a real highlight of our Christmas this year. This was our first time visiting the railway and Tenterden in general, and we fell in love with both. We'll be back!!
I visited the railway during a break in my journey so that I could get some lunch and have a look around, the staff and volunteers were exceptionally friendly and welcoming.nnI paid for a platform ticket so that I could get the cafe which was an exceptionally reasonable £1. An added bonus was being able to use the ticket for a discount in the cafe, I chose not too and the team in the cafe were really appreciative.nnOptions for hot and cold food in the cafe were good with various drinks available as well.nnInside and outside seating areas were clean and tidy and nice to use.nnOverall the railway is a lovely place to visit for a stop off and visit, use the cafe, take a look at some of the trains and support a really good attraction in the southeast.nnI’d highly recommend a visit for a ride on the trains as well.
This was our first visit, inspired due to Mr Doodle attending to doodle a train carriage that day. The volunteer team were very friendly and helpful. My toddler and I enjoyed an ice cream bought onsite whilst we watched the art being created. There were other things to see and do. On site there was free parking, toilets, a cafe and model railway. Take your 20p and 50p coins to operate it, my 3 year old loved it.
