A surprisingly charming station. A fine stone Victorian building with a ticket office, a bistro and a garden to sit in...even a book exchange. The stationmaster is courteous. However, if you need to coordinate a bus or a taxi you need to be on your toes (or wait patiently in the bistro)...and the bus stop onward to Burwash etc is a 7 minute dash up the road to the local grocer's (also worth a visit). When buses and trains are better coordinated it will be perfect!
