What a difference 6 months makes. After a complete refurbishment the Blue Boar is now alive again. The new owners have invested heavily making this the best pub in Wantage, if not Oxfordshire. Friendly and welcoming staff who can't do enough for you. The courtyard is a superb outdoor space to lounge away a sunny evening but the indoor space is also beautifully done with a few luxury touches to complete a comfortable bar area. Finally, the toilets are brand new, sparkling clean, and tastefully decorated. The bar has been well and truly raised!
Really nice place. Didn't even have to get up to go the bar, a lovely waitress looked after us all night. Good atmosphere. Highly recommend.
Really nice but they need to change the lights to warm white. It's too glaring, feels like you are in an office. Drinks are fantastic, staff are top.
Since new ownership this place is absolutely lovely. Complete change from previous pub. Owner is brilliant, massive selection of cocktails, beers you wouldn’t get anywhere else in Wantage. Really love this pub!
Every time I visit, something has been tweaked - it is constantly being improved. A well run pub - the staff are friendly, polite and attentive.
Since the take over, and refurbishment, this place has become a fantastic addition to the town. Great selection of well priced drinks, with something to suit all tastes, and the table service is brilliant.

We went to The Blue Boar today having seen it had been taken over and refurbished. They have improved this place beyond words! Lots of choices for gin lovers. Unfortunately the garden was closed on our visit, but if it's half as nice as the inside is, it'll be great

Amazing atmosphere, the staff is friendly. I ordered the gin tonic and they had a big choice of good gin.
